Whether you side with the man-made global warming camp or with the skeptics there's no denying at least one thing: There's a clear debate involved.

CLIMATE OF DOUBT primarily focuses on the vast number of climate doubters who consider all this talk of melting ice caps and endangered polar bears to be a lot of hot air. Are these ones marginalized, or is what they're saying becoming more mainstream?

If interest in and concern for the planetary environment is supposed to be an apolitical affair, you wouldn't know it from listening to either side of this debate. If it's not talk of big oil with its vested interests in fossil fuels, it's a leftist agenda ultimately out, whether knowingly or unwittingly, to bring about a totalitarian New World Order.

Cap-and-trade. The Oregon Petition. Climategate. The 97% consensus among scientists. They're all given mention here.

Interestingly, and as somewhat of an aside, the theory of uniformitariainism comes into play on the side of anthropogenic climate change, whereas some skeptics make the claim that sudden and dramatic changes in climate have occurred in the past rather frequently and that there is nothing unusual (i.e. human-related) about this.

Stats can be compiled in such a way as to bolster one's position. Graphs can be misread. Data can be manipulated. Both sides agree on this and have accused the other of doing it. For those simply after the truth, getting to the bottom of this issue can be quite the challenge.

Whether you regard climate science as gospel or oxymoronic, CLIMATE OF DOUBT is an objective documentary on the sides involved.

Is there really an environmental crisis taking place, or merely a crisis of opportunity? Has there always been naturally occurring warming and cooling periods throughout history? Are the climate change proponents "warm-mongers" and "fundamentalist progressives" or are they actually onto something? Is the interglacial period about to end, as some predict? Ought human-produced CO2 be demonized? Is predatory capitalism and industrialized nations the real enemies being targeted? Are snowmen in danger of becoming extinct? Questions, questions, and more questions, and round and round we go as sure as the Earth spins.
