Excellent noire story

Story starts out with a strong grab especially assuming you've played Hotel Dusk. The gameplay is just right for a story-driven DS title, and the puzzles are short and utilize the DS well.

Compared to Hotel Dusk, the characters are overall a bit better. While Hotel Dusk had really no stakes or threat, Last Window puts you in more dangerous situations, but the stakes still don't feel as high as they should. I found myself wandering around a bit less than Hotel Dusk, which I consider a small improvement.

The story ties in with Hotel Dusk's, but doesn't really answer many questions leftover from the previous game. This may disappoint some, but I think the experience was great. The game is just a bit too long, and some extrapolation could be cut right before the ending. Also, I find the tie-in with a female character from Hotel Dusk really didn't serve any purpose for the story, especially when the main character you're trying to find in Hotel Dusk isn't really mentioned at all in this story.
