This is a great series opener.

Back in 2015 Aaron Quinn is arrested after his girlfriend Denise Huskins vanishes, he claims she's been kidnapped. The Police do not believe Aaron's story, claiming that he was bound and drugged as she was taken.

One of the more interesting crime documentaries I've seen for ages, I am totally intrigued by this story, one thing that does concern me, is how quickly they jumped to the conclusion that Aaron is a cold blooded killer.

I found myself getting angry at The Detective, and the way in which he was trying to bully Aaron into confessing to a crime that he says he didn't commit. I don't know the story, it's not a case I've ever heard of, but for me, this guy simply does not seem guilty of murder, guilty of other things sure, but murder, not sure I see that.

Aaron's story is absolutely bonkers, and I'm sure most people would struggle to believe it, but is it almost to wild and obscure to be made up?

That voice message was so bizarre, is she alive, or was that a bit of trickery, has it been botched together?

Baffling, but intriguing.

8/10.

Left me with more questions than answers

A story of a couple who fought against the system to prove that they were the victims of a crime.

A truly unique and horrible story that still to this day feels like an unsolved one. The series ended quite abruptly and there was very little info given of the convicted man. Probably intended but still the documentary felt a bit empty.

Who were the remaining assailants? Was the convicted man, a man with many mental illnesses, really the mastermind or was it somebody else? How was Aaron's ex Andrea connected to all of this? Why did the kidnapping group go to such extremes to create this ridiculous illusion to Aaron and Denise? A lot of things still don't make sense which is why the documentary left me as a viewer confused.
