Sex & Nudity

  • The main character and his girlfriend kiss and cuddle. The main character and his girlfriend discuss having their 2.4 children once they are married. References to human trafficking.

Violence & Gore

  • Frequent gunfights, often with bloody results. Several stylized karate fights. There are a few chase sequences that can get a bit perilous. Kidnapping, execution, and torture are seen in Sync. A man carries a severed head inside a shopping bag.

Profanity

  • A few used of the f-word. Several s-words can also be heard. Other mild language (damn, ass, etc.) pops up every now and then.
  • 9 uses of F*ck, 6 uses of sh*t, 3 uses of Prick

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The main character attacks a gang's hideout, where we can see a meth lab and a room full of cocaine. The main character gets in a fight in a room where cocaine is stored, and he gets hit in the face with a packet of white powder. This remains on his face for the rest if the scene. A few characters consume what may be alcohol.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Sync is a very complicated and thought provoking story about the danger of letting technology get too advanced. The idea that a computer program/virus has become smarter than it's makers and is causing havoc may be unsettling.
  • The main character has the ability to switch between "shells",or copies of his body. Sometimes he switches bodies after being killed. When shells are not in use, their eyes roll back into their head. At one point, the in-synced shells come alive on their own and have a very eerie appearance.
  • A character has a badly scarred face due to an acid burn.
  • A character is suddenly approached, shot, and dragged into a van. This all happens right in front of his fiance's eyes, who is shocked and begins crying hysterically.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the end, the main character discover that his conscience has been replicated in a second shell, and he then gets in a conversation with himself in a different body. One of the shells agrees to let his conscience be implanted into a computer in order to stop a singularity. This shell then dies.
