Having been taken in to custody by the CIA it is time for Brody to be interrogated about the contents of his video and his connections to the terrorist Abu Nazir. Carrie isn't pleased when she has to sit and watch while Quinn questions Brody. It soon becomes apparent that he isn't getting anywhere as Brody denies wearing a suicide vest with the intention of killing the vice president even after being shown the recording he made. After questioning Brody for some time Quinn appears to lose control and stabs Brody through the hand; he has to be dragged out of the room screaming. It is now Carrie's turn to ask the questions; he methods are far more gentle; she gives him water, unchains his hands, even turns off all the cameras before she starts talking about how she really cared for him… slowly but surely he starts to open up and tell the truth. With the truth out one might expect him to be dragged off to prison to await trial but he is far more valuable on the outside working for the CIA against Nazir. While Brody is in custody his wife has been worrying as to his whereabouts and doesn't believe the excuses officials tell her and his daughter Dana goes for a drive with her new boyfriend, the vice president's son Chris; a drive that will end in a tragedy.

I think this was the best episode to date; largely because of the scenes in the interrogation room. These only included two people for most of the time. In these scenes Damian Lewis and Claire Danes were great as protagonists Brody and Carrie; Rupert Friend also put in a fine performance as Peter Quinn… the moment he attacked Brody was a real shock. At the end of the previous episode I was confused as to how Brody could continue to be a major part of the series as the evidence against him was so solid but what happens here provides a believable way for him to continue be free. The scenes with Dana and Chris were a slight distraction but I'm sure they will become important in future episodes.

Last week when Carrie blew the lid on the investigation into Brody's terrorist attempt he was taken away by backup while she finally got to prove she was right. Brody was taken away to an interview room with his feet chained to the floor. David is called in so they decide what they are going to do in their short time they have Brody. They tell Carrie to stay with Peter interviewing Brody. When the interrogation starts Brody does not want to play along as he keeps lying. Peter brings up Abu Nazir's son and he has no memory of it he says. When Brody's lies build Peter shows him his confession video where he admitted to everything. While on the way to school Chris wonders if his parents are getting divorced and Jessica has to turn down the questions. Dana meets with Finn and tells him that she has broken up with Xander. David over hears a conversation with a close worker of Brody and tells him that he is helping the CIA. Jessica is still trying to ring Brody but no answer. Peter then goes to talk to Brody again and this time he tells the truth about Abu Nazir's son but still lies about the bomb vest. Peter then brings up Jessica and that he might show the video to her. Peter then pulls out a knife on him to try get him to talk. Forces are then called in to get Peter away from actually hurting Brody. It's then Carrie's turn to take over. Jessica visits Brody's hotel room and still no sign of him as she looks at the empty room. Jessica then calls Brody's right hand man who calls David to find out where Brody is for her. Carrie while talking to Brody makes it more personal as she will not hurt him physically but with words about what he did to her. She asks him if he ever felt for her but he cannot answer just trying to apologize to her. It turns out Peter stabbed Brody just to get kind Carrie involved. When she gives him water she turns off the cameras giving them some privacy. When they are alone she takes off his handcuffs to give some more room. Brody may be lying about the vest but she can see through his act that he is buried in lies. The two are almost in tears as they talk about love and lying where she says her truth is to marry Brody. He still lies about the vest so she brings in Waldon. Carrie then brings up Dana's call saying it was what kept her from blowing up the bomb vest. Carrie try's her hardest even saying she loved him but still he says nothing about Abu Nazirs plan. He may not know anything about the plan he says there is a plan. He also tells her about who he got the best from, Roya Hammad is his contact and all the people working close with Nazir that he knows of. Saul then comes into the room to tell him to call his wife about how he will be home. While trying to get Brody to move he is unable to walk out of his chair. Carrie then tells Brody he can either face prison time or go undercover and find out Nazir's plan. Saul and Peter clear the wall only leaving a picture of Roya as she is Brody's contact with Nazir. While on her date with Finn they drive very fast and hit someone with they car, but instead of looking for help they drive away. The Carrie/Brody relationship is back on as a cover up for their new plan. Brody returns home and tells Jessica that he is know working for the CIA. Family reunion and everyone seems happy except Dana who seems a bit off. Carrie arrives home happy that she finally has cracked Brody and now the CIA might be able to find out Nazir's plan. Lewis & Danes know each other so well and their acting proves that for example when the were both in tears it was very effecting.

EPISODE GRADE: A (MVP: Claire Danes)

I gave it a 7 because how it conveyed emotions and for the height of suspense. Otherwise, the plot line is weak though alert pace was captivating. Acting is worse and worse, I dont understand how Claire Danes got awarded for this show (show is also too weak to be rewarded that way, it has no appeal, no inspiration, no music, no costumes, no decors - just regular Sunday afternoon easy binge watching to pass time).

It was good so far up to the point when Carrie started her "interrogation" blurting out her sob story about being so broken hearted. Then it turned into a soap opera.

Danes is a good actress but her Carrie is quite pathetic and I'd be surprised if in real life they would let someone which such a huge conflict of interest getting mixed up with matters of state security.

Jess and Dana are also quite cliche and annoying as the perky conflicted wife and the spoiled brat daughter.

The Brody character is so despicable I don't care whatever happens to him.

That someone who has spent so many years being tortured and turned by terrorists -- especially someone in the military -- would confess because crying Cary tells him she's in love with him is beyond ridiculous. Equally ridiculous is that he will instantly be let loose and expected to be loyal to the CIA now. Claire Danes' acting has been absolutely brilliant in this program, but I can't watch another episode. Mandy Patinkin and Claire Danes carried this series, which, up to this point, was excellent. Also, combined with the above, I'm really tired of the additional time spent lately with the horrible acting of the posey, pursed-lipped actress who plays the wife and the even more terrible acting of the actress who plays the sneering daughter. Their poor performances have detracted from what was such a good show. So disappointed.
