I haven't seen this short since my childhood.
Rewatching this as an adult, I think it was pretty charming, and it could have been a nice series for the whole family.
Shame it was never turned into a whole series, though it seems more shorts were made for the Nickelodeon anthology show Oh Yeah! Cartoons, but these weren't made into a series either.
Also a shame the original student film from Rob Renzetti, called "My Best Friend", featuring the first appearance of these characters is not even registered on the Internet Movie Database.
Apparently there were plans for making this into one of the interludes for Dexter's Laboratory, but unfortunately said idea never took off.
