An interesting "romantic" episode

Warning: Spoilers
"Yes Dude Yes" explores a very interesting premise: What if there were another girl in Mordecai's life, besides of Margaret? First, this episode shows the viewers the way in which Mordecai would react if he (Hypothetically speaking)wasn't able to became a couple with Margaret. His sorrow is portrayed in a comical, and yet meaningful way, in a similar way of movies like "(500) Days of Summer". After that, a new secondary female character, is introduced: CJ (Who is also one of the most interesting characters from the entire series, despite having a very little role) Of course, Mordecai cannot stop thinking about Margaret, their relationship starts being nothing but a close friendship...But it could have been more with the time? Sadly, we will never know the answer for this question, since near the end of this chapter, there is the typical Deux ex Machina/Diabolus ex Machina event which serves to make things go back to "normality", opening again the possibility for Mordecai to become a couple with Margaret, while destroying at the same time his friendship with CJ.

Of course, I knew from the beginning that something like that was going to happen eventually, but it would have been nice (and original) introducing a new female character series, who also interested in Mordecai. It also would have made the relationship between those two more interesting and a bit less predictable, in my opinion. But I guess that, since "Regular Show" isn't supposed to be a romantic series, that kind of love triangles wouldn't work very well. Who knows.

Eventually, a new character was introduced in the fourth season (Thomas) but he doesn't have any role in the relationship between Mordecai and Margaret.

I think that I would be nice to see CJ in another episode.
