Animated with style, color, energy and constant pace (spoilers)

Quite an unfortunate title if you see it without context, this is really an animation that sees a monkey in the jungle facing a bulldozer knocking down his home but, rather than attack this specific bulldozer, he strategically shaves (as Blackadder might say) and heads to the city to change the system from the inside. As a story it is pretty amusing to see a monkey working his way up within an organization, gaining success and overcoming being seduced by the wealth he now has and remembering his mission, but it is the manner of the delivery that makes it work.

The plot is amusing but the animation makes it works as it is bursting with energy and pace throughout. The downside of this comes early because I didn't think we had much context for the challenge he was rising up against, but it is still pretty clear. The animated "camera" flips all around the place, with colorful backgrounds at times and scenes transitioning into others by spinning around the character as he moves within "time" as it were. It is not an unique approach but it is still very well done with lots of color, style and imagination. While it is never hilarious, the energy of it is infectious and I did find myself enjoying it a great deal. It could have been better with more specific visual gags but as it was it had enough energy, color and impressive animation to make for an enjoyable short film.
