The Fastest Shinobi

Warning: Spoilers
On this episode, memories play a big part. Naruto and B keep running to reach the battlefield. Naruto senses the panic and confusion among the shinobis from the Alliance, considering that White Zetsu is infiltrating in the night camps. Anyway, before they can keep advancing, the Raikage and Tsunade appear to stop them. A questions why they left, so Naruto answers that he can't stand and do nothing while his friends and other shinobi fight and die in the war. He says he can end the war, and already knows Iruka's argument of the Alliance. Still, the Raikage angrily refuses to let him pass, as everyone agreed that the war is to protect them. Naruto then tries to escape by force, but he can't surpass A's speed. When he asks for Tsunade's support, she says that she now is part of the Alliance, and cannot decide for herself, the choices are not taken individually. This way, Naruto realizes that she would support him, but she has no choice to obey the Alliance. Once again, he tries to surpass the Raikage's speed, but he can't. A reveals that he is the fastest shinobi alive since the 4th Hokage died. Naruto is surprised that the Raikage met his father. A tells that he was a magnificent shinobi, surely the greatest he knew. He adds that Jiraiya called Minato the child of the prophecy, but then dismisses the idea, calling him a failure because he died on the Kyuubi incident. This obviously struck a nerve on Naruto. He tells him not to talk about his father like he knew him. He soon starts remembering what his mother told him, about how Minato gladly sacrificed his life for him and the village. Minato entrusted the future to his son. Still, the Raikage is blind by rage, and decides to kill Naruto to prevent him from escaping and to change the plan of "Madara", as time will pasa until the Kyuubi resurrects. Tsunade is shocked, and shouts at him saying to not make decisions on his own. When A attacks Naruto, Killer B intervenes to stop him, even though the other was preparing to protect himself. B tells him that killing Naruto wouldn't be different than killing him, since he is a jinchuriki as well. A says he'd do it if needed, but he chooses Naruto because B, for being a perfect jinchuriki, held greater military worth. Then, Killer B, aware of his brother's blindness, takes back the tentacle and leaves only his fist clashing with A's fist, and says that he doesn't understand him like before. A didn't understand why B defended and trusted Naruto. And while A thinks this, a series of flashbacks is shown: the first revelation is that A and B are not blood brothers (incredibly), they are foster brothers. The 3rd Raikage and A prepared a test with several children to make a double Lariat against a doll. The only one who passed by connecting with A was B. Since them, they became brothers, and on their first bump fists, they understood each other. In time, B was ordered to eat and train hard in order to match A's strength. Later, A shared a conversation with his cousin, the previous jinchuriki who noted B's talent. He explained that being a jinchuriki changes the way everyone looks at you, and that soon, the person enters a road of loneliness which leads to a depression, a crisis of existence. The question of being compatible to be a jinchuriki is always there. A tells his cousin that he has eveything, the talent, the lineage, the strength, but he answers that what a jinchuriki needs is a way to fill the void. He hopes B can success on achieving that. When A's cousin dies, at the funeral, people wonder about the next jinchuriki, B. They know it's going to be hard, and it's revealed that is easier to control the Nibi given the number of tails (two vs eight). People don't have faith on B. Still, the day A informs his brother, he also tells him that he is a very important person for him, their connection as brothers is special. He asks B to tell him anything in case he needs, as his future as jinchuriki is going to be hard. B happily bumps fists with his brother, they still understand each other. On a next memory, A tells his brother that he still needs to increase his strength, so they are matched equally in force. B promises that one day he will surpass him and give him lectures. The last flashback, shows a grown up B, along his brother and other shinobi, who confront Minato and a group from Konoha. They recognize him as the Yellow Flash, while A remembers that he prevented the capture of the Kyuubi (when Kumo ninjas almost captured Kushina). A battle of speed starts, so Minato throws his sealed kunais all around, and easily evades A's attack. Still, B reaches him with a tentacle after predicting where he would be (right next to A). As the Konoha team calls for a retreat, Minato decides to leave after praising B's move. But A doesn't want to let him escape, and having memorized the positions of all the sealed kunais, is certain he will catch Minato this time. Still, the Yellow Flash fools him and goes right behind B, as he sealed his tentacle on the previous attack. Yet B, again guessed the move and was threatening Minato as well. Before leaving, the future 4th Hokage told them they would meet again, and asked A to see how special is his brother. Minato noticed during the fight that B has filled the void as a jinchuriki.

This series of flashbacks was well done, especially the one with A's cousin and Minato. The perspective about a void to fill is explained with different words but leads to the same thing Naruto and Gaara felt. They ended up filling that void with love. Naruto with Iruka, Sakura, Kakashi, his parents when he learned the truth. Gaara with his siblings, and the Suna village. B always considered the bond with his brother as the best way to fill that void. If A's cousin and others couldn't is because they surrendered and didn't accept that their family could love them despite being a jinchuriki. Sometimes depression wins. About the Raikage, there's no doubt he has lost all reason. Intending to kill Naruto is a extreme decision (considered also by Kurotsuchi), not also cruel as could and should cause a war between nations, but also useless. He'd be gifting the Kyuubi to Obito on a silver plate. It's insane. Killer B already realized that his brother has lost his mind. Then, the revelation that A and B are not blood brothers, but actually foster brothers, is unnecesary. If they look a lot alike, both with blonde hair, the same skin color, similar height, weight, body shape. How it's possible they are not blood related? Another strange decision by Kishimoto. On the other hand, Tsunade was as great as usual. Naruto could easily realize that she supported him, but that the Alliance forced her to be on their side. She still shows the cherish and care towards him, like if he was her grandson. And she won't let the Raikage touch him. To finish, the flashback showing Minato was good, he certainly caused a big impression to other villages. Still, he wasn't actually the physically fastest shinobi, because his special space time ninjutsu works with space, not just speed. Then, he recognized B as a true jinchuriki, as someone who has something valuable filling the void, because he knew well how Kushina felt. He understood the jinchuriki's kind of life.
