Good, Insightful, Suspeneful

These things work the best when all the participants work together. San is kidnapped in the first half and Hickman feels responsible. He must be coerced into continuing to help out. Some key evidence is extracted from a young guard at the park through a sort of sensory isolation method. Unfortunately, this episode, while coming to closure, isn't without loss. It will be interesting to see how they handle more conventional episodes, whether they are episodic or holistic. I fully intend to move on in the series. Hickman is fighting self-doubt and revenge. He also has addictions that could return. Oh, by the way, Donald Sutherland is terrific as a kind of commentator and silent partner. His very being is confidence with threat attached.

Not bad, but cliched

Warning: Spoilers
I could predict everything that happened. Why? Because I've seen it before in other shows. The killer is very typical. You could guess what he was going to do. You could guess bumbling cops would let him go instead of saying "open the trunk". You could guess he would lick her, and how he would treat her. Maybe we are all FBI profilers after seeing stuff like this all the time. Or maybe writers are unimaginative.

Also, when the killed off a main character, that was incredibly gratuitous. They just wanted to hype you up. They just wanted to get your blood up. It had nothing to do with the plot, it didn't do anything for the show. It was just stupid and pointless.

Note to writers...stop doing stupid and pointless things.
