Sometimes, it’s not easy being a former James Bond. Pierce Brosnan made a movie, titled The Moon And The Sun, with Academy Award winner William Hurt, and Paramount Pictures has just cancelled its imminent release. It would have been Brosnan’s first film since the triple 2014 disappointment of The Love Punch, The November Man and A Long Way Down.
Directed by Sean McNamara (Field Of Lost Shoes), The Moon And The Sun is based on the award-winning 1997 novel of the same name by Vonda N. McIntyre. The story brings together elements of science fiction and historical romance, to tell the tale of the Sun King, King Louis Xiv (Brosnan) in 17th Century France, and his quest for immortality.
Seeking endless youth, he dispatches representatives to capture endangered sea monsters, rumoured to provide eternal life. Father Yves de la Croix (Benjamin Walker) returns with two – one dead and one alive.

Rewriting history to egregious ends, Field of Lost Shoes recounts the true-life saga of seven Virginia Military Institute cadets who in 1864 died in service to the Confederate Army during the Battle of New Market. Awash in phony-looking facial hair and clichéd period drama, Sean McNamara’s drama defines those brave boys via their love of black people, their embrace of Jews, and their desire to fight so that they might protect their homeland from “foreign invaders,” uphold their “traditions,” and preserve their “future.” Save for a brief prologue, there isn’t a pro-slavery Southern man to be found in this fantasyland vision of the Civil War, only kind-hearted, open-minded progressives who want to be with their love-a...

We've already had Trent Reznor refer to David Fincher's Gone Girl as a "nasty film" and today we get the R-rating to prove it as the MPAA delivers the rating with a reason stating it's for "a scene of bloody violence, some strong sexual content/nudity, and language." On the other side of the coin, we have the once R-rated Expendables franchise going PG-13 with The Expendables 3, though I'm sure that just means little blood but still plenty of gun fire. Also in today's ratings are ratings for the James Brown biopic Get On Up, the Bill Murray-led comedy St. Vincent and an R-rating for Ryan Gosling's Lost River. Check out the full bulletin below. Black And White Rated PG-13 For brief strong language, thematic material involving drug use and drinking, and for a fight. Note: Please Note The Original "R" Rating, Bulletin No.2324 (5/28/14) Has Been Changed By The Appeals Board.

Given that writer-director David Ayer showed off the main cast of his latest, tank thriller Fury a couple of weeks ago, we weren’t expecting a new piece of casting. We are, however, happy to learn that Empire favourite Jason Isaacs is aboard.Fury finds Brad Pitt as an Army sergeant nicknamed Wardaddy (unless his family had some incredible foresight when it came to naming their sprogs) who commands a five-man hunk of battle-armour and guts through Germany as the Nazi regime begins to crumble in 1945. The enemy cannot be counted out entirely, however, and the mission will be a tough one.Michael Pena, Scott Eastwood, Shia Labeouf and Logan Lerman are the crew going through hell alongside their commander. Isaacs is set to play a veteran captain who advises Pitt when he needs it.Ayer is putting the cast through their paces right now in London. As for Isaacs,...
