More good and bad actions ... of a man
kosmasp7 September 2023
No pun intended - a sequel to a Turkish movie on Netflix, that is filled with action. And an aging antihero. I am not sure morally speaking we can say he is a good guy overall. But he is better than many other people here. Which is always a good trick for films to use, so we do root for the main character. No matter his faults and flaws.

If being in love with someone much younger is one of the things you take issue with (see also first movie), then you will have quite a lot to worry about and not just that little bit. The action is decent ... and I am kind of curious how this will (hopefully) wrapped up in the next installment, which should be out soon (?)

Slow Pace and Scattered Plot but Otherwise a Solid Action Movie

I liked the opening scene: Adil/Said is driving through a beautiful desert landscape when he has an accident, flipping the car and passing out. After that, he is ordered by some kind of gang boss to find a person. Then the movie slows down inexplicably. They are now in Istanbul, so the nice landscape is gone, and the next 30-60 minutes is spent on Adil/Said talking to various characters. Some of the dialogue probably gets lost in translation. It does not come across that interesting.

During these scenes, Adil/Said ends up taking on another job, introducing another plot to the story. The way this was done in the script makes it seem pointless and it's never really woven into the main plot that well, unless I missed something.

One bright spot is his Adil/Said's pseudo-niece, who is gorgeous and vivacious and gets a fair amount of screen-time.

The ending was decent, but the pacing was too slow and there were too many distractions from the main storyline. Giving it 6/10.

It's not really Noir. I can't explain why without spoiling it, but wanted to point it out if that's what you are looking for.

Ehh.. Considered successful

The main scenario must not have been enough for the producer, so he wanted to enrich the story by adding another event cycle. It is a very unusual and enjoyable movie among Turkish productions. While one part of the story wants to tell us about the bad guy, the other part reminds us of the existence of the good guy. I want to see the last movie of the series, Curious Man. I hope we see a more detailed scenario this time. This type of trilogy film series is not possible today. Even the fact that it is done is promising. Istanbul is very attractive for the movie, but the final movie might be more satisfying if it takes place in another city. Good or bad, okay. Curious why there is a bit strange. The character is curious enough anyway.

Good movie, part of ongoing trilogy

Very good movie. Events are told in a way that you have time to think for a second and not stay more then that in a same spot. So many interesting subplots.

And main character is likable, sherlock holms-ly but in a autodestructive part of their characters similarity are mostly.

Insights in Turkish culture are very open and i apreciate them.

Visually, movie do offer satisfactory scenography.

Music is also good.

Reason i am givin 10/10 to this movie is general likability of every single character in movie.

I trully hope that whole trilogy will be closing it with a good end. It is really special movie serial and im glad i watched it.
