Engrossing little French crime yarn
searchanddestroy-119 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
It seems that this taut and powerful little French crime flick has never been released in movie theaters. Such a shame, and that's not the only one because a batch of this kind of stuff are only available on streaming platforms, straight to home on line video, not even DVD. This movie is very well made, and mainly acted by non professional actors. Very well done for such a tiny budget and the finale is not that predictable either. It is tough, gritty, only the fist fights are not realistic at all. The hits in the face look like babies touches; such a shame. That's the only flaw to this drama taking place in La Chapelle district of Paris, the kingdom of drug dealers, prostitutes, homeless migrants, some kind of French Bowery. Excellent ending, so realistic and bittersweet.
