Good end to the first series.

The Ship welcomes singing sensation Vida Devine on board, but after a few cancelled dates, her performance seems doubtful. Jack takes a shine to Vida, but the friendship is short lived, as Jack is soon looking for her murderer.

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, yes it's a cracking story, and features more development of Jack and Kate, but best of all, it showcases the true talents of Kate Robbins, she's awesome, best known perhaps as an impressionist, but a singer and cracking actress also.

Good that Tyldesley had more to do here, I don't always feel they've made the most of her talents, she's excellent here though.

A good final episode, and unlike many shows, we had some answers, the burning question of course, being would they or wouldn't they.

I'm so glad the journey continues.

8/10.

Warning: Spoilers
I've really enjoyed watching The Good Ship Murder, and it's a lot of fun. Really, the detractors (and I'll never forgive the Gogglebox UK people trashing Shayne's performance of Daydream Believer from the first episode) miss the point by highlighting the unrealistic aspects. But really, how is the "unrealism" different to the exploits of a fictional crime writer solving a murder every week in Murder, She Wrote, like really. Or Mrs Sidhu Investigates, where a caterer solves crimes, or the Marlowe Murder Club, and I could go on init. Anyway, this episode had a tinge of poignancy, with Kate Woods calling off her engagement with Piers, and Jack deciding to remain in his ship job instead of going to America. So will they allow sparks to fly? Thankfully the series has been renewed for seasons two and three.

The presence of legendary singer Vida Devine onboard the ship produces a frenzy of fans, and members of the Press circle the star like hungry sharks. Someone claims to have a scoop on Vida, while another passenger believes her most famous song holds a special significance for them. And then there's a murder in Malta, creating another headache for cruising sleuths Jack and Kate.

More of a serious episode with Jack determined to nab the person who murdered a famous singer and the first one on his list is her manager, but we as the viewers knows it's too obvious. It's not a great episode, it's just ok, but I'm glad to hear there will be a second season.
