Human drama elevates the fantasy
ossie8527 April 2023
One of the things that sets this show apart from other CW superhero shows is its focus on the human drama that complements the comic book fantasy. In this episode, we see Lois struggling with her cancer diagnosis and the emotional toll it takes on her and Clark's marriage.

Meanwhile, the divorce side of things is really impacting Lang's, and Jonathan gets his chance to shine.

The overall story continues to move along at an ok pace, and I think this season is an improvement on season 2.

The show's tone is very good. The message is positive, and the show looks better than its budget. It remains a classic Superman story told pretty well.

Just ok
BlueMonkey1926 April 2023
I went back and forth on 6 or 7. Every episode this season is a variation of Lois is sick and Clark wants her to take it more seriously. They argue a little and cry and then hug at the end. Or Lois is sick and Lois wants Clark to take things more seriously. They argue a little and cry and then hug at the end...are they going to do anything else?

The focus on overpowered whiny Jordan is also never good. They're actually turning him into a Mary Sue character and I hate using that term but he just is. He's always winning and getting good things and praise from his parents constantly! He's so annoying and the actor isn't any better. It was so sad when Jonathan, who is a way better character, talked about his family ignoring him and he came home excited to show off his achievement only to be ignored again because all they do is focus on Jordan. I don't get it, it's maddening!

The rest was whatever. The Cushings are there, they stuck Jon with them to make them better, Mannheim is still confusing and there was a really obvious twist. Has the show lost steam?

More Drama & More Nonsense
panagiotis199327 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Live Reaction / Review for Superman & Lois Season 3 Episode 6: I hope this is better than episode 5 which was kind of filler-ish. Jonathan's job doesn't look easy. ''You're rusty till I say otherwise'' lmao. Jonathan will have to be patient to not lose his mind haha. 15 minutes in and we move slowly, not much happens storywise. Sarah's sister is missing, who cares? Is this really the plot in this episode? Plus some more cancer-related stuff and Kyle's new girlfriend? I get that we get more things about Lois but all this screen time for the Cushing family? Makes no sense.

Clark is definitely not the core of the story in these last few episodes. Also where is John and Natalie? Jordan needs a suit. And we get exactly 2 minutes of action... Wow, so amazing... Another episode of useless drama, everybody come on, let's talk about our feelings. Drama is good, too much drama is not. Wth? The female villain is the cancer patient Lois was talking to? Now that's a good plot twist. Ok it finally ended... What to say? Bad writing? Nonsense? No action? No Superman? Focusing on characters that don't really matter? Yeah. My Rating: 6.7/10.

It's called superman AND lois
johndambler30 April 2023
I think people slating the show due to lack of "superhero stuff" don't seem to realise that the show is called superman and Lois meaning it's about both of them, if it was just your run of the mill superhero show I'm sure people would be complaining that it lacks depth.. People need to be more open minded and realise this is an all round show and perhaps people will be happy.. I'm enjoying this series the mix of family life and more issues that can happen that are more than out of this world shows that superman has to deal with more than just monsters and super beings but also the harsh reality that is real life..

Excellent moments

Warning: Spoilers
Ok, I gave this a 9 because it has some amazing acting and writing about the challenge that a cancer diagnose means for the patient and his family. I think it was really well done and realistic, even when some characters here are aliens. I think the story of the Cushings was very well written too but I have a few problems with the internal logic of the story. And also, on a personal level, I do not care for the Cushings. Sarah is an entitled, annoying girl And the only reason I managed to find an ounce on interest in Cushing is that I like Crissy. But let's go to the minor points I commented. I do not like that her parents use Sarah as a baby sitter. I mean, for short periods it is ok, but Lana left for work and left the two children alone. Then next day her ex does the same thing for a shorter period of time and she gets mad. Sarah is a child herself, she needs to do her homework and have a life, yes, flirting included. Lana is the mayor, I would imagine she can afford a baby sitter. Sarah apologized and feel guilty and that is fair, because she really should have taken a better care of her sister but she should not have been in the position of being in that position to begin with.

Another problem with the writing is that even when it was clear that Superman was overprotecting Jordan, in the end he was right. Jordan was hit with kryptonite and could have died. None of them knew how that would affect him. So the final scene between Lois and Clark was a little weird, because they perfectly discuss Superman fears but never admit that Jordan could have died when trying to save him.

Last thing, even with the emotional parts were good, I rather spend time with Natalie and Steel than with the Cushings,,

i like this show, great episodes sometimes

Warning: Spoilers
This was a bit of an average episode really, I'm not sure why they were pushing the negative reality of cancer so much, but some of the episode worked..I'm glad lana found out about her ex sleeping with Chrissy as she's a witch to him. Chrissy has grown on me a bit.

I think the best part of the episode was again, when Jordan swooped in and saved the day I also think the replacement for John is working out well, the first episode he was in , I was unsure, but he's working well now, really fits in.

There was another storyline too about Sophie Cushing being ignored a lot, but then when she went missing they just KNEW all of a sudden without checking her room or anywhere else in the house, which was stupid, it was a silly hole in the storyline.

Lana has become the worst
falconincometax2 December 2023
Lois spent several episodes ignoring her youngest child due to "plans" but the when the father had plans she screamed at him for "inconveniencing" him with his children. Typical for this day and age but disgusting nonetheless. Can we get more women that actually take accountability for their actions instead of always acting like they're just so overwhelmed and the working man isn't. It's sickening how men are portrayed as evil, villainous fathers if their every move isn't in support of the female yet the female has to do absolutely nothing and is revered as a great mother. Just saying it's BS and most of yall know it.
