I have to say; Star Trek, the Helena Chronicles, is one of the most excellent Star Trek series I have ever watched. It makes use of both episodic and serialized our storytelling very well. Also, it ties in two larger aspects of the Star Trek universe, post dominion war, Star Trek, Deep Space 9, Star Trek, Voyager, and the movie Star Trek insurrection. Star Trek, the Helena Chronicles, even makes a great spin off from Star Trek hidden frontier while telling the story of the exploration of the Briarpatch and furthering the storyline for future Starfleet exploration of intergalactic space. However, if that weren't enough. I can't even say that it makes use of one of my most favorite, Star Trek Voyager episodes that I have ever seen entitled the Omega directive. There are multiple Starfleet directives that I find generally foolish and even contradictory. For example, the prime directive, I do not see how Starfleet officers can explore space seek out new life, forms and new civilizations and learn about them, without breaking the prime directive on a daily, if not weekly basis. Because it could even stand to reason that even setting foot on a planet, or even exploring space Could potentially violate the prime directive. However, the omega directive is one of those that I see as necessary precaution, because of the consequences that could happen and have happened due to the violation of the Omega directive. So my favorite part of the entire show is getting to see what happens when an entire starship, and it's crew violates the omega directive, and what star fleet is willing to do to make sure that that directive is not violated, and those of whom that violated it, cope with handling the consequences. Additionally, it is an excellent show just by seeing how the characters interact and how far Starfleet officers are willing to go in order to get starship home again. This easily could have happened for the crew of the USS voyager.
