Stranger on a Train.

To celebrate Lucy's birthday, Geoffrey and Wendy have booked a first class train journey, Anna and Toby join them. A blind man joins them, and when a series of thefts occur, Lee assumes their unwelcome guest is the culprit.

After the shocks of Coffin, it was back to reality with Train, I've always loved the episodes where the family are all locked up together it worked in Panic Room, it worked in Parachute, it really worked well here. I laughed the whole way through.

Wendy's audio descriptions were hilarious, Toby's constant foot in mouth moments were also really funny.

The usual mix of comedy and sharp on liners, 'The Brailway Timetable,' that was a terrific one liner.

Chris McCausland was terrific as Martin, his quips, one liners and retaliations were brilliant. I remember seeing this guy in an episode of Moving on, I had no idea he was this good at comedy, he was great.

Very funny.

8/10.

Chris McCausland appears in this episode and is also credited as a co writer. He plays Martin a blind passenger who helps himself to Lee's seat on the train.

Lee, Lucy, her parents, Toby and Anna are in a first class compartment on a steam train journey. It is a birthday treat for Lucy.

Only Lee is not happy with the interloper taking his seat. The others chide Lee for being mean.

Then the guard turns up and she tells everyone there is a thief who is stealing from the passengers. Lee immediately suspects Martin who might not be as blind as he makes out to be.

Some rapid fire jokes but the actual story was strained. The guard or anyone from Lee's compartment should had just taken Martin to his own seat. Then there would be no story.

Also where was the real guard for the duration of the journey. What was the point of turning up at the end and giving a warning about the thief.

I wasn't overly convinced by this episode I'm afraid.

It has its moments, as all episodes of 'Not Going Out' do, but the episode did feel as long as the journey the characters seemed to be on. When you find yourself paying close attention to the fake background, you know you're not really enjoying what you're watching.

The main problem for me was that the character of Lee was just being annoying throughout, with no real redeemable qualities. We surely at some points need to see why someone as nice as Lucy would tolerate him, let alone love him.

The first episode and the one with the daughter were good, but the rest of the 13th series so far has only been ok in terms of quality.
