Oreshura is a series that I love with all my soul and I consider it an experience, people usually consider it the typical romance anime but for me it is one of the best in the field. Today I want to do a review about this masterpiece, the best chapter of Oreshura.

The final chapter of the anime is a pivotal moment in the story that brings together various character dynamics, symbolisms, and parallels that have been developing throughout the series. Let's analyze this chapter in depth, focusing on these aspects:

Eita Kidou: Eita is the main protagonist of the series, and his character arc reaches its climax in the final chapter. He finally accepts his love for Natsukawa and learns the importance of his own happiness. Eita throughout the series deals with stoicism and determination, which I want to cover:

Promise-Driven Stoicism: Eita's stoicism is primarily rooted in his unwavering commitment to fulfill the promise he made to Chiwa, his childhood friend. He vowed to become a doctor to cure her illness, and this promise has been the driving force behind his actions for most of his life. This unwavering dedication to his promise leads him to prioritize his studies and career goals over personal relationships and emotional experiences.

Emotional Repression: Eita's stoicism manifests as emotional repression. He suppresses his own desires, feelings, and needs in service of his promise to Chiwa. This emotional repression becomes a significant source of inner conflict as he struggles to reconcile his commitment with his growing feelings for other characters, particularly Masuzu.

Conflict with Relationships: Eita's stoicism creates conflicts within his relationships, especially with Masuzu and Chiwa. He initially approaches his interactions with them in a rational and detached manner, which leads to misunderstandings and emotional tension. His inability to express his emotions and desires hinders the development of deeper connections.

Evolution of Stoicism: Over the course of the series, Eita's stoicism undergoes a transformation. He begins to question the rigidity of his promise and his own emotional repression. His interactions with Masuzu, who challenges his worldview, lead him to confront his own desires and the importance of his happiness.

Stoicism vs. Authenticity: Eita's journey is marked by the tension between his stoic commitment to his promise and his growing desire for authenticity in his relationships. This conflict drives much of his character development as he learns to express his true feelings and make choices that align with his own happiness.

Resolution: The final chapter of the series is pivotal for Eita's character. It's where he faces the ultimate decision of whether to continue down the path of stoicism and fulfill his promise to Chiwa or choose a different path that prioritizes his own happiness and emotional well-being. This resolution reflects his growth as a character and the evolution of his stoicism into a more balanced perspective.

But Eita is not the best character, but Masuzu is.

Masuzu is Eita's girlfriend, and her character arc centers around her initial deception of Eita and her growth into a more genuine and vulnerable person. In the final chapter, her true feelings and insecurities come to the surface as she confronts the challenges of their relationship. Masuzu suffers from a personality disorder, as her father used her as a jewel for the family more than as a daughter, which ended up damaging her and causing her to have to repress herself and not trust anyone but herself. For her, love is something completely useless. But this changes in this chapter.

Deception and Facade: Masuzu initially enters Eita's life by pretending to be his girlfriend to escape her own problems. She presents a facade of cynicism and manipulative behavior, which serves as a defense mechanism to keep others at a distance.

Loneliness and Insecurity: Beneath her confident exterior, Masuzu carries deep emotional insecurities and a sense of loneliness. Her upbringing and experiences have left her with a belief that genuine love and affection are rare, leading her to question the authenticity of relationships.

Emotional Vulnerability: Despite her facade, Masuzu harbors deep emotional insecurities and loneliness. Her relationship with Eita forces her to confront her true feelings and vulnerability. She struggles with her desire to be loved for who she truly is.

Character Growth: As the series progresses, Masuzu undergoes significant character growth. Her relationship with Eita challenges her cynical worldview and encourages her to open up emotionally. She begins to understand the value of genuine relationships and love.

Complex Love: Masuzu's feelings for Eita are complex. While their relationship starts as a deception, her emotions become genuine over time. Her love for Eita becomes a central theme of the series, highlighting the contrast between her initial manipulation and her authentic feelings.

Struggle for Authenticity: Masuzu's character journey is about the struggle for authenticity. She desires to be loved for who she truly is rather than the persona she created. This internal conflict drives her character development and relationships with other characters.

After having explained the main characters a little, I can move on to explain and analyze the episode.

The Beach: The setting of the final chapter, the beach, symbolizes a place of reflection and revelation. It's a location where the characters can confront their true feelings and make important decisions.

Transition to Authentic Love: For Masuzu, who initially entered into a fake relationship with Eita, the kiss may symbolize her transition from a relationship based on deception to one rooted in genuine love and affection. It's a pivotal moment where she acknowledges her love for Eita as real and authentic.

Identity and Authenticity: The keychain is a visual representation of Masuzu's struggle with identity and authenticity. Masuzu is known for her intelligence and beauty, but she often hides her true self behind a facade of cynicism and manipulation. The keychain serves as a physical representation of the persona she has constructed to fit in and maintain her image.

''Someone who can stay on the side of a liar? That's totally obvious. A partner in crime''

This is what Mana says to Eita at the beginning of the chapter, to jump directly to a scene of Eita running to get to the show organized by his aunt. What does this mean?

Eita was doubtful, he didn't know what to do with his relationship with Masuzu, not until now, Eita has already accepted that they should stay together and that he really loves her no matter what she tells him.

In Masuzu's scene, his character stands out, because the environment is orange, implying that it is getting dark. Mauzu has fair fair skin and beautiful silvery-white hair, which sets off her blue eyes. Blue is the opposite of the orange environment while light white is the opposite of the darkness of the night. However Masuzu is wearing a black bikini, which contradicts his color. This has to do with Masuzu's psychological mask, she is acting like she is not really.

Masuzu confesses, confesses that she shouldn't win, that she doesn't believe she deserves love. The public begins to think and speak badly of her, in the same way that Eita does at the beginning of the series, but this time Eita is upset, not only because of what others think, but also because of what Masuzu herself thinks.

Eita goes on stage, in which she claims that Masuzu is wrong, this breaks Masuzu's mask, Masuzu with a smile tells him that she has always hated him, and Eita responds with a kiss.

In the next scene, none of this matters, as she gained a girl who talked about how she loved her father.

During the rest of the chapter, Eita only confuses things more, and this, this gentlemen, this is tragicomedy in its purest form.
