Details of the conspiracy emergency, as the plane lands back in The UK, Delaney risks her neck to save Hana, Jess and Matthew, but who can they trust.

My faith in the drama has been restored, genuinely the best thing I've watched probably since Line of Duty, it's honestly been that good. I never expect much from final episodes anymore, too often they're disappointing, this was outrageously good, bonkers of course.

This had an almost vintage feel in terms of content, that kind of epic, espionage thriller vibe that was all the rage in the 1980's, if course it's given an up to date twist.

Epic in every detail, this finale was phenomenal, it's changed with almost every episode, now very much an espionage thriller, what a complete contrast from the first episode.

What a chilling concept, with a lot of talk of Nuclear Power Stations coming, this really was the stuff of nightmares, a different, imaginative, unexpected twist, almost James Bond type storytelling.

A note on Mido Hamada, this guy is so good, will be looking out for more from this guy.

10/10.

An exciting series spoilt by the last episode

Warning: Spoilers
This was a terrific story, for which I gave 8s and 9s for the first 5 episodes. But the last one was so full of holes it spoilt the whole ending.

  • How did Madeline and Jess get into an RAF base in a private car with no authority?

  • How did the plane get around the airspace to change runways so quickly that the MI6 team couldn't get to the new runway in time?

  • How did the steps get to the plane and the doors opened so quickly?

  • How did they, Nolan and Li get off the base without challenge?

  • How did they all drive into London, and the US embassy without being spotted by thousands of traffic cameras and the security of the embassy?

  • How believable was it that Mike, with his senior role at the US embassy, not realise that he was in the grounds of the Chinese embassy?

In addition, the last 10 minutes was a complete anti-climax.

Sorry, too many blunders for me: I have given it a "5".

So Red Eye. Take off was a bit iffy, it eventually soared after hitting turbulence but the landing was rocky.

Madeline Delaney has been having an affair with the US Embassy station chief Mike Maxwell. He's the baddie in all this. Covering his tracks. The sim card contained information to hack a nuclear reactor and blame it on China.

The Americans do not want the nuclear power plant to be built by China.

With Delaney trying to evade her dodgy superior John Tennant. She has no idea that she is going to the lion's den by driving everyone straight to the US Embassy.

Red Eye was always ridiculous. The final episode dialled that up a bit more. It made it thrilling but in a laughable way.

How can you accidentally end up in the Chinese Embassy. I have seen American and Russian Embassies abroad, they are heavily fortified. No one can just end up in the middle of it. I would think the Chinese Embassy would be the same.
