- Some news expose segments, involve serious sex crimes. WWOR was edgy, one reason WWOR (and UPN in general) stomped WPIX (and The WB in general) in the ratings, with their news coverage.
- Of course it's never for leisure and stimulation, and it's with purpose.
- However, as UPN's first incarnation got closer to its end in 2006, the stories on UPN 9 WWOR news got more sensational about sex. One example includes a very frank news report from 2002 about R. Kelly's sex tape with a young girl. And the details are very frank. So it depends on the era of UPN 9 news.
Violence & Gore

- Some expose segments were about the Mafia and murderers. Usually some graphic shots are shown, but never out of purpose. It is the 10 o'clock news, after all.
- However as UPN's first incarnation came to its end in 2006, the stories on UPN 9 news got more brutal and violent in their coverage as details got more graphic. The July 18th, 2005 newscast with "The Newark Summer School shooting" is an example. So it varies depending on the year of UPN 9 news.
Profanity

- During the expose segments, the ones with profanity are always edited out. Also (part of the regular news), Russ had an famous interview with Mike Tyson, but it was edited out too.
- For some the segments of Matthew Schwartz, they're a bit more for leisure, so theoretical Cinemax content advisories for a best of segment of his exposes, which feel like "Richard Bey" episodes: rated TV-14 for violence (V), adult language (AL), and adult content (AC).
- However, as UPN's first incarnation got closer to its end in 2006, the UPN 9 WWOR news stories got more profane as the news reports got sensational. So it depends on the era of UPN 9 news.
