John Klein's award winning post-apocalyptic zombie film Chrysalis has been retitled for North American distribution. Now called, Battle Apocalypse, the film hits DVD this month by Barnholtz Entertainment via Cinedigm.
Battle Apocalypse is available on DVD February 24, in addition to its already-available digital form.
Synopsis:
Joshua and Penelope are survivors of a deadly infection that laid waste to humanity 25 years ago. When they encounter fellow survivor Abira, their lives are forever changed as they fight off the remnants of the infected.

John Klein is set to release his zombie thriller Chrysalis as Battle Apocalypse. Barnholtz Entertainment via Cinedigm will handle the release and Battle Apocalypse will release on DVD February 24th, 2015. The film has been reviewed favourably here: Chrysalis Review on 28Dla. And, Battle Apocalypse follows Penelope (Sara Gorsky) and Joshua (Cole Simon) as they struggle to survive in an ever changing wasteland. This film was funded entirely through crowdsourcing. As well, this title has gone on to win numerous awards, including Best Actress (Gorsky, NYC Horror Fest) and Best Actor (Simon, Trail Dance Film Festival). The release of Battle Apocalypse is taking place on multiple formats. Available now on the Battle Apocalypse Homepage through Video-on-demand, this title will be available at many DVD retailers on the 24th. Director: John Klein. Writer: Ben Kurstin. Cast: Sara Gorsky, Cole Simon, and Tanya Thai McBride. The Kickstarter campaign for Chrysalis described this film as a cross between Cormack McCarthy's The Road and 28 Days Later. Though, this film is much smaller than both of these apocalyptic films. Still, cinematographer and director John Klein captures the dark tone of these two films through the use of setting and characters. Everyone is just trying to survive, after an infection has ravaged the world. Chyrsalis is a true dystopian film. But, events are not too bleak as a trio moves about a rugged urban landscape. Truly indie, Chrysalis will resonate with many sci-fi or horror film fans. Chrysalis is a film about the central characters Penelope (Sara Gorsky) and Josh (Cole Simon). Before you go getting out your dictionaries - the word "chrysalis" is used to describe an insect at the stage of changing from larva to adult, during which it is inactive and encased in a hard cocoon. This would apply perfectly to a horror movie, yes?

The post-apocalyptic thriller Chrysalis is complete. This film, from director John Klein, is set twenty-five years in the future. Also, the film stars Cole Simon, Sara Gorsky and Tanya Thai McBride. Chrysalis will debut April 24th, 2014 and film fans can preview the release, with the film's latest trailer. The story focuses on characters Joshua and Penelope. Together, they search for other survivors, after a cataclysmic event. A new woman joins their group, Abira, and events become even more desperate. Fans of indie horror can see more of the film below.
