It opens up half an hour or so in, chilling.

The Super Surgeon, Doctor Paolo Macchiarini attempts some revolutionary plastic windpipe transplants on several patients, the problem is, his patients die. Paolo tells his new fiancée Benita that his clients include The Clintons and Obama.

It's an interesting enough first episode, it primarily deals with Paolo's relationship with Benita, and details the hopeful surgeries he performed on a few of his patients, using groundbreaking new treatments.

It takes about half an hour or so for this one to open up, it mainly deals with his relationship, it's arguably a little bit slow, it does open up, and the shocking story begins.

Julia's video was tragic, she really did seem like a good human being. Paolo's surgery seemed almost like magic.

I can understand anyone falling for Paolo, they spoke about Clooney, and there is a similarity, he's gorgeous.

I imagine there's a lot more to come in the subsequent episodes.

7/10.

Heartbreaking

I really don't know how to rate this so I'm just going with a 5. This is not the first documentary I've watched on this man, and unfortunately, both have focused so heavily on his producer ex fiancée that it's a huge distraction from all the horrible things he did to those seeking his help as a doctor. Frankly, I don't care about how she was swept off her feet only to find out he was lying the whole time. Like, how can someone be THAT dumb. She's as much of a narcissist as he is. I hope we see less of her in the next episodes.

Chris' story broke me. 30 years old and dying of cancer. He would have done anything to live for his daughter and Macchiarini took full advantage of him. Awful.
