Smash King is legendary. It borrows much of it's style from anime culture; from the flashy action sequences, to dramatic story bead reveals, to the anime music OST selection--Any anime lover will feel right at home during every single episode, Nintendo fan or not. The pacing is on point, the music selection and timings are on point, the voice acting is typically on point, the plot itself is VERY on point.
Smash King is a machinima of Super Smash Bros Brawl, so while it does borrow assets/stories from other characters and pre-existing franchises, it masterfully weaves them together along with even the actual mechanics of the game itself into a plot so smooth that it will have you forgetting you were even watching a machinima in the first place. It also challenges the expectations of Mario lovers by inverting the roles of good guy and bad guy within the Mario universe and other major Nintendo universes.
What's very neat is how there's quite a few of voice actors in this series who would go on to become very huge and successful voice actors in the future.
