Sex & Nudity

  • A lady with breasts exposed wearing a robe walks by on the side. Somewhat blurry. Later in the episode a women is asked to inject a drug into a male genitals. No nudity is shown.
  • A man asks a lady if she ever wants to go for a "poke"
  • A old photograph of a mans testicles enlarged from disease are shown.
  • Glimpses of partial nudity behind a curtain in an Asian brothel. A man asks a woman to play a game (the busy flea) and breasts are shown.
  • Occasional sex scenes between main characters and with prostitutes (contains nudity).

Violence & Gore

  • The surgery scenes, needless to say, are very graphic and realistic, there's lots of blood and surgical gore all throughout them.
  • The first part of the first episode has a graphic C-section, with loads of blood and a graphic moment of a man reaching into the wound and retrieving the baby (the woman is sedated through all this).
  • One of the main characters picks fist fights at pubs with bloody results.
  • One man has his tooth pulled out by mobsters as punishment for not making payment of a debt.
  • A man storms a room and cuts the throats of two men, then repeatedly stabs another. The scene ends with him hurling an axe at a man which lodges in his forehead.

Profanity

  • A few uses of 'cunt'.
  • Occasional uses of the f word. Some episodes contain multiple f words in single scenes.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Cocaine is referenced and seen on screen. People are seen smoking. The main character is a drug addict and frequently injects cocaine.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Graphic suicide by gun depicted about 10 minutes into the very first episode.
  • Operation scenes are shown, sometimes in close & explicit detail.
