A slow step up, but a great pay off.

I didn't have high expectations for this one when I saw the first trailer for the Uncanny Valley as I thought that it tackled the most boring subject out of all of the films: internet dating! I honestly thought that there was no way that this would be good because despite the fact that I like Mike Jeavons on his Shameful Sequels show, I honestly thought that this was a bit unadventurous for something for The Uncanny Valley, which is how I initially thought about most of the other shorts, but it has turned out that the more unadventurous ones have seemed to be the best, and this is no expectation.

The plot is that Mike has been internet dating recently and has come across someone who has very similar interests to him and goes out on a build date with her but gets a shock surprise. Sure, it is the least action packed of the shorts at this point, but works because of its witty writing and is an interesting allegory about how when going on those types of websites can lead to bad consequences.

The final reason this works is because of the unpredictability of it, and the payoff is really good at the end, but you'll have to watch it yourself to find out what I mean.

For the penultimate Uncanny Valley short, it is great with its great writing and has me really hyped for the final short.
