Just the tip of the iceberg

This is a retrospective of a few salacious, recent-enough scandals rocking US politics. Sadly, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Personally, I care less about sex scandals and much more about stealing, lying, and cheating, which are symptoms of a much worse character.

If you lived as long as I have, it comes to no surprise how corrupt and hypocritical people everywhere - not just in the US- are, in particular politicians.

And that's because politicians need a particular set of skills to rise in their career: they must be outstanding liars, and most of the time they are morally bankrupt; they have no qualms of being hypocritical, greedy, narcissists.

These powerful, yet despicable people think they are above the law; most of the time doing their bad deeds in plain sight.

They also think they are more clever than anyone else by tweaking the truth. These people never get punished, or only get a slap on the wrsit not because they outsmart anyone around them, but because they bribe their way out of jail.

One cannot fail to notice that all the politicians featured in this documentary have no real remorse, perhaps because their punishment is almost inexistent.

Worth watching, but there are no surprises there.

Binged it!

Jake Tapper is very talented. I thoroughly enjoyed The Outpost: An Untold Story of American Valor. But I most enjoy his narrative on screen. I get his humor and the inflections in his voice add SO much to the storyline. United States of Scandal is excellent and I was sad when it ended. His strength is most definitely in satire.

Still, I have NO doubt public figures will provide him with much needed material for future seasons. In fact, I'm counting on it as I'd love to see more.

I just watched "Confirmation" with Kerry Washington. Loved it too. Hopefully Jake will write an episode on Thomas once he leaves office - with any luck - the latter of which will take place sooner than the office allows. Life terms are something we-the-people need to change...but that's an entirely different subject.
