A young man sitting at table , defining the transformations suffered , the consequences of isolation, the past virtues and the risk of paranoia.

Is he prisoner ? Is he mental ill ?

Like each film of Alex Kouros, only clues , suggestions and light of candles as pillars for atmosphere. And, in some measure, it is just enough.

But two pieces make The Dark Monologue pretty different by the movies of Mr. Kouros.

First the second man, sleeping, dead or only result of imagination of hero.

Second- the monologue itself, reflecting the waste of good time for projects, plans and too late , familiar things for part of audience.

So, well crafted , like each of cinematographic projects of Alex Kouros.
