Blooper
rosi-114 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The episode was good and it was fun to see Amanda back at SVU and working with Carisi, Finn, and Olivia again.

One thing that surprised me was that during the lineup originally the perpetrator was number four, but when they decided to do a voice lineup he was number three. It's the first time I noticed a blooper in all these years.

I was sure that Amanda was going to come back to the show and was surprised when Olivia discouraged her. However it was great to see taxidermy chipmunk! That guy deserved his airtime! :)

I don't know if Kelly Giddish is planning to return in the future, but it was sure nice seeing the chemistry between all the characters. I don't feel as the current cast has meshed as well as the past cast members did.

Not a blooper

This was an awesome episode. With more time spent on personal stories, it was a departure from the usual formula, but it still kept the case as the focus. Loved seeing Rollins in action and at home. Daddy Carisi--nice touch, writers!

The different numbers in the lineups stuck out for me, too, but it wasn't a blooper. In order for each ID to stand up in court, they have to rearrange the lineup every time. By mixing it up, the vic's visual ID is independent of her voice ID. If she picks the same perp twice with different numbers, then her IDs are credible. Such great attention to detail. It's one of the things I love about this show.

Episodes are getting worse.

Warning: Spoilers
It's clear that the writers' strike affected the quality of writing on your show. A lot of the episodes are clearly suffering from terrible writing. I can't believe that this episode even aired considering how terribly it was written.

The build up to the reveal and plot point was incredibly lazy and provided no real drama other than lazily revealing the rapist as the most obvious character. The sting operation was lazy and cliche to say the least (Roland might come back as part of the team). They finally catch the rapist and bring everything to a terrible rushed closure. Overall, this is the worst episode I've seen so far and it's clear the writer's strike hurt them.

Wedding time

Warning: Spoilers
I would like to know that if anybody has attended a full blown wedding in the middle of the week? Also, where did the bride get the dress to replace the one that the rapist took? Also, how did Kelly get to be able to investigate this without being a proper detective with credentials? This would never be allowed as it would jeopardize the case. Also, how did she get the availability of a tenure ship at a college when she only been teaching a couple of years? This is how bad the writing has gotten on the law and order series Why do they allow incompetent, 20 something writers to be used on such a good show with a great premise?

Prima Nocta

Warning: Spoilers
This was an okay episode of SVU, but one thing I like about what this season has given us is that we are getting a closer look at how the team finally cracks what is going on.

Most of us at home that have watched a procedural or two could easily tell that it was going to be something related to the wedding planner or the flower delivery, but seeing the team slowly get it felt different than how SVU usually does. Having the stepmother be clever and protect him was a nice change of pace too, as too often these people are easily manipulated by police.

Good, but not a memorable or standout episode.
