The smartest and best WCTH episode I've ever seen
guardedheartie13 May 2024
This episode went full on with high stakes and unsanitized grit. Elizabeth faces a formidable adversary from her past and has to suffer his sexual harrassment.

We could all feel her fear, confusion, and belittlement.

For once, the writing prioritized the main conflict of the episode, so that it could be adequately dealt with with beginning, middle, and an epilogue and the scenes were long enough to let the audience fully experience the emotions.

This episode accurately shows how sexual harrassment affects a woman's whole world. For example, she and Nathan were taking steps forward in their relationship, but when Mr Higgins showed up, she was unable to be honest with Nathan or spend time with him. Writer Elizabeth Steward said that since she couldnt' trust Higgins, it bled over into her relationship with Nathan as well.

The resolution of the conflict was well done and allowed Nathan and Elizabeth to grow closer together.

I do want to point out that this Mother's Day (May 12, 2024) episode ended with Nathan and Elizabeth in a more romantic position than we've ever seen them in before, which was incredibly gratifying and healing for Nathan Grant fans because it was three years ago on Mother's Day 2021 that our hearts were broken over the season 8 finale. This is serendipitous timing.

There were only small scenes for the "Who Shot Lucas" investigation, the Canfield family conflict. More time was given to Lee getting into his new role as mayor and a big romantic date for Mei and Mike. We didn't see much of Henry or Allie, and Faith was absent from this episode. That was okay for this episode because there isn't time to fully involve each character in every episode with such a large cast. I know they will make up for it in later episodes.

Cinimatography, music and editing were also very good in this episode!

I give this episode a rating of 9.5 -- the highest score I've ever given!

Heartfelt chemistry takes center stage
ksbonik13 May 2024
Episode 6 beautifully showcases the building connection and relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth. Their evolving feelings are portrayed with such sincerity and subtlety, adding so much depth to the storyline. Nathan's respect and understanding of Elizabeth's journey, especially as she confronts difficult challenges, further solidify their bond. The chemistry between them is palpable, yet the show allows their relationship to develop organically, never rushing the process. With each interaction, hearties are drawn deeper into their emotional journey, eagerly anticipating what is next for them. It's a testament to the captivating performance of Erin and Kevin that make this episode a true standout.

Well-done!

Powerful storyline and well-handled by writers, actors, and crew. It was brave to revisit the story of Higgins, but so wise to allow Elizabeth to face her fear, be courageous, and rely on others to support her. The story exemplified how she can trust Nathan and how he has her best interests at heart and encourages her to be her best self.

Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry as so well-matched as actors. They bring out the best performances in each other, whether it is serious and deep, light-hearted and funny, or a tentative, sweet and ever growing romance. Great chemistry that beautifully moves the love story along. No matter the issues they deal with, their acting is fascinating to watch! I'm just hoping for more screen time together, and as a family of four, because their acting is my reason to watch. Although others are good, in my opinion, Kevin and Erin are a step above!

Looking forward to more in episode 7.

Best yet and it just keeps getting better

Warning: Spoilers
This covered such sensitive material, but they handled it in such a delicate way. I was glad it encouraged those who have been wronged to go and talk to someone they trust and who can help get justice. I love how Nathan was a good friend and saw her need even though she denied it. He listened intently and encouraged her to take all the time she needed, which she did because she trusts him. Then he said he'd be there to back her all the way, like any real friend does. He was there because he cared and not for what he could get out of it. I love their interactions after the heart to heart as well. How he stood in the background as her protector while she told Higgens good riddance, (Their eyes speak volumes) and at the end when he comes once again to check up on her. I love their open heartedness, their bonding, and their comfort with the beginnings of affection towards each other. Perfect ending to a perfect beginning. This show just keeps getting better. I love the new show runner. I hope they keep her. They'll have many more great seasons if they do.

Best episode since season 1!!!

Warning: Spoilers
So this show is definitely back to its old feel!!!

Mama Bear and Papa Bear 😂🤣😂 Elizabeth has to face one of her ghosts from the past, a superior who not only harassed her, but almost cost her her job back in Season 4!

Now he's back, causing her to not only relive those moments, but also worry about her students and her school once again!!

With Nathan's and Lucas' help, she faces her fears, rolles up her sleeves and kicks the guy to the curb! Almost literally "You don't wanna miss your train!" In good old Hope Valley fashion! With Nathan proudly watching.

Not to mention all those beautiful and romantic scenes we get in the process.

But: will they ever get their date???

(Not that they need one!!!)

This episode was exceptional

This show was a wow. Years ago Elizabeth had a problem with a superintendent, while she won that little battle at that time, it came back in this episode. Boy this was done so well. Doubting herself. Not sure if she was right. Confusion, guilt. All of it. Rosemary and her conversation - amazing. Every scene with Nathan and Elizabeth- powerful and emotional. Lucas confronting bad guy Higgins - incredible. This episode was written brilliantly and every actor stepped up to the plate and hit home runs. It's emotional, beautiful and redeeming. This episode is not to be missed (and really sweet moments with Mike and Mei balanced the show with some delight).

Amazing episode

Warning: Spoilers
I've watched WCTH since the beginning and this episode was one of the best episodes ever. The actor that played Higgins was so believable as the creepy superintendent. His voice, the way he walked was so cringe worthy, he gave me chills.

Erin Krakow was amazing in her betrayal of Elizabeth and all her emotions shown on her face. I loved her talk with Rosemary and how she opened up to her on what she was going through. When she ran into Nathan on the street he knew right away there was something wrong but he didn't push. And then he saw her by the pond and could tell by looking from a distance something was wrong, then that hug. I loved how he held her and when they talked he didn't pressed her and told her to take her time, then he didn't solve it for her he encouraged her to tell him how to help. He allowed Elizabeth to face some fears and know he will be by her side as her supporter and protector.

I loved how Lucas played his part in bringing down Higgins. And the last scene on the porch was perfect. Thanks for bringing back, what to me it's what I love most about Elizabeth and Nathan, their deep conversations.

Spectacular episode best ever!!!
audreycheer13 May 2024
The story line and the acting b Elizabeth and Nathan were superb. Their chemistry was off the charts! The story line was absolutely magnificently portrayed by the character Higgins and convincing enough to want yo throttle him. I enjoyed seeing Elizabeth struggle to overcome her fear of Higgins and especially her reaching out to Nathan for comfort and help. Kudos to the writer! Here's hoping that the following episodes bring Nathan and Elizabeth closer to where we get the Grant family which we have been waiting for 2 long years.it gets better because season 12 WCTH was just announced. Thank you.
