Before The Dark
tawny26888 November 2013
I truly enjoy that this web series has been created for Christine's fans. Personally, I enjoy getting more insight into Vladimir and Sarantha and their time. I have enjoyed each of the books in the Dark Series to date and it's nice to have a peek into the history before the time of Mikhail and the all the characters we, Christine's fans have come to know & love. This web series gives us more history and more characters and a better understanding of what has led to the turmoil that the Carpathians face and I like being able to have access to the web series through Christine's website and her Facebook page. Having the web series available on multiple sites makes it easier for all her fans to keep up with the series and its origins.

Love Christine Feehan
vickycoleen20008 November 2013
I have read all of Ms Feehans currently published books and the "Dark" series has always been my favorite. I am thrilled to be able to watch the "Before the Dark" videos. They allow viewers to put faces to characters, to see expressions, mannerisms, etc. They are such a plus to go along with the book series. They also have given us information hinted about in the books and have filled in blanks as to what had happened in the story line before the time-line started with "Dark Prince". I have greatly enjoyed the look into the past. I would highly recommend them to all readers of the books, and if you haven't read the books - now is a good time to start!

Before The Dark
rissymccoy8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Christine Feehan has done it again not with just righting the well known Dark Series but has started a pre-series that are for viewing only. Vladimir Dubrinsky, a Carpathian, is the Prince of his people who has the gift of Premonition. Being of the earth and being the prince of his people gives him certain obligations. To save his race he must find the Lycan seer, Catalina and vice versa. This is a wonderful prelude to her Dark series. I give it a 10 out of 10. If you are looking for a world of action and the unknown then this is the series for you. There is love, vampires, shape-shifting, Lycans, new races are introduced, and many more exciting things. This mini-series will keep you on your toes. The world of mystery will be there keeping you in suspense and asking for more.

Before The Dark
adaiah7 November 2013
Huge fan of Christine Feehan's Dark Series. The Before The Dark webisodes is a prequel to the series and was very exciting because we were able to meet characters that we've heard so much about. The actors are doing a fantastic job. John Wells as Price Vladimir Dubrinsky nails it. John speaks with his eyes and body language before we even hear him speak. Nate Merritt as Roman Daratrazonoff as the second in command and best friend of Prince Vlad was spot on. Roman's job is to protect his Prince at all cost. I was waiting for Roman/Nate to say at anytime, " Protect the Prince and kill them all and let God sort them out". The ladies held their own also. Amanda playing Sarantha as the worried lifemate and the mother concern with her son's health. Sheila English and her crew did a great job in putting this webisodes together for Christine's fans. Looking forward to the next webisode. Thank you.

Amazing!
bgladsto678 November 2013
The video series sheds new light on her book series, and I believe the Queen has done it again! Kudos to all who are involved!

The books are wonderful and stand alone very well, but with this history behind the series it brings it to life again.

The time I have spent reading, and re-reading, the series was in my opinion, time well spent. Now I will take the time to re-read the books.

Thank you so much for all the time spent, both on the books and on the videos, your devotion to your fans is unmatched!

Signed with love and gratitude

Beverly, Granted lifemate of Byron and Josef(Wishes he would get his book soon :D )

Good concept; Bad quality
Evil_Angel4208 November 2013
I would have to say that I like the fact that things are finally going to be explained. I just want to say that the actual videos themselves aren't done in the best of quality in my opinion, it seems more like a reality show than a TV series...even a mini one. There are some things that could be done a lot better (again in my opinion) the way they talk seems much more fictional than it should be, it should be like the books...draws you in so much that you can't stop reading (or watching in this case.) I applaud Christine Feehan for making it this far, I have been wanting to see the dark series, and the Ghostwalker series turned into some kind of show or movie and this is the first step...I just wish whoever did it paid a lot more attention to quality. I still rate it a 9/10 though. Go watch for yourself and see what you think.

Fabulous Series
saimariejohnson8 November 2013
This is a fantastic series based on a book series by the wonderful author, Christine Feehan. In the tradition of many popular Gothic style story lines I was so impressed to see that they finally decided to turn one of her books into something I could sit down and watch! The characters are beautiful, and played so well! I am astounded by this, and even more that it is only a webisode series instead of a full length movie, or television show! The great thing is at least now I can go back and enjoy it again and again! Kudos to all the writers, the author, the actors, and everyone who worked on it! Stunning display! I cannot wait to see if anything else comes forth in the series, or if they are going to take more of Ms. Feehan's work to follow up after Before the Dark! I truly think it will be a disservice to how fantastic this one was if they do not follow up with more webisodes, and take more of her books to create a fabulous world such as this one!

What a gift!
shanahollis18 November 2013
Very excited about this!!! Christine Feehan is one of my top two favorite authors & she does not disappoint. This "mini series" is based on her most popular book series the "Dark Series", which is one out of about five. I have read this book series which contains about twenty five books, most of them twice, and feel as though this "mini series" is a gift; yet another way she continues the magic and keeps us all coming back for more. So far in this "mini series" we are getting a glimpse into the past; more detailed information on the back story and it's information that is relevant to the newest "Dark Series" book out which is part of a trilogy. I can't wait to see what's coming next and I hope it not only continues but develops into more! I would love to see episodes for her other incredible book series: Ghost Walkers, Sea Haven (1 & 2), and the Leopard Series. So far, LOVE IT!!!

A Lovely Gift
queensher8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This series of videos is a lovely gift from author Christine Feehan to her readers of the the Dark Carpathian series. All those who are fans of Ms. Feehan, and read the series will appreciate these little movies. The series takes place before Mikhail met his Raven, before the great war, that scattered the Carpathians, and set adrift the Lost children. Readers have only captured a glimpse of Mikhail's parents in 'Dark Possession'. With these movies, or visual novellas, the fans get to see some of what occurred before 'Dark Prince' hit the shelves. I have already seen the first two in this series, looking forward to the rest. Keep em coming, Ms. Feehan, keep em coming. :)

"Before the Dark" is a wonderful way to see how the "Dark" series began. SEEING the people I only imagined in my mind is great. It would be great to see the hole series on the television. My family and friends who I have loaned these books to would be glued to it also. Can't wait to see the rest of it and then buy "Dark Wolf" to finish this story. Great actors. Done very well with the limited budget they had. Would like to see it all together once they finish with the last one.Mrs. Feehan is a wonderful writer and I am glad that someone filmed this. She thinks of her fans and that says allot about the person she is for giving us ,her fans, this wonderful GIFT.Thank you all who have worked on this for her fans.

A lovely addition to a great series
pauletten8 November 2013
This serialized tale is a lovely rendition of the prequel to the Carpathian novels and great tie-in to the written series. A must for all fans of Christine Feehan's Dark books. That the mini-series builds to the conclusion of the next trilogy arc in the series (Dark Lycan, Dark Wolf and Dark Blood) makes it a must for all serious readers. According to the author's website, each webisode will be released monthly, leading up to the release of the final book in the trilogy (Dark Blood). Since my discovery of this series, I look forward to every release regarding the Carpathians whether in text or video. Congratulations on another great addition to the Carpathian world.

More please!
dlynnso578 November 2013
Enjoyed seeing the story unfold and watching such sexy characters. Makes me want to read all the books all over again. Also wishing they would consider turning the book series into several full length movies or a series. Would love to see at the end of all these mini-episodes them all together as one video. Hate having to wait a month for the next one to come out! Don't know if it would be possible to find enough gorgeous and sexy alpha men for all the roles. My only complaint is the volume of the piece once the speaking begins. Even turning my computer sound to top volume and my speaker volume up was difficult to hear and understand the words being spoken. If you like the videos you should read the books!

On the fence?
hannyc_20048 November 2013
I was so excited when the first "episode" was available on FB. Being a fan of the book series I was ready to see how it all began! After viewing it I am not certain if I am excited or disappointed. More like on the fence at this point...I think.

The acting was okay though not extremely horrible. What really grabbed my attention was what seemed to be more modern language used rather than "Old World". I thought the language should reflect the time period to make it more believable.

In the end I think I'll watch more episodes of the coming series, if only to get a taste of how things the past set things up for the future.

On a side note...the actor playing Vlad....*drool* Oh, yeah.

Exceptional mini series.
wolflover28 November 2013
An awesome show and answers so much for all the author's books. John Wells plays the lead superbly. He is what you would think Vladamir would act and look like. It is very riveting and keeps you glued to the computer. Would like the episodes to be longer and maybe a little more detailed like a movie. But since this was only put on for the small screen it is good. Hopefully they will bring into play his other son and daughter. I'm hoping they explain what happens to the oldest son and how Vladamir makes the difficult decision. I'm very interested in how the lycan clan comes into play and will they eventually band together or why they are so at odds with each other.

Awesome Gift
dmckesson2229 November 2013
This prequel to the acclaimed Dark series, written by author Christine Feehan, is a fantastic gift to her fans. This episode begins the series with Prince Vlad Dubrinski, played by John Wells and his life-mate Sarantha Dubrinski, played by Amanda Miller. John and Amanda's performance was compelling as we are given a snapshot of Prince Vlad and Sarantha's life during the Turk wars. We are finally able to view the insurmountable challenges this couple faced with their son, vampires and an encroaching war. This prequel is a short video made for the web, not a big budget film or television series. It's perfect for the medium where it's shown. Besides, it is a gift. How can anyone complain about a gift. I am thankful for this gift and give Chritine Feehan and Sheila English a big shout out and heartfelt thank you.

Good show
maw-lisa8 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
These mini clips of Christine Feehan's novel are great. It finally gives people a chance to see characters they've read about for years. As most of the books concern Mikhail's 'generation' of Carpathians, it is good to see the story of his parents - Vlad and Sarantha - being used for this mini series. If I had to pick a fault, it's that they are too short. You just settle into it and it's almost over. I hope these are going to be used as an opening for a TV series based on the books because it has just been too long coming. If any networks are looking for a new project, this is for you! The number of characters spread through the books would provide plenty of scope.

Best Ever!
albluvsrdb8 November 2013
This is wonderful!!! The story line, the actors and acting, the editing, directing, and all the rest of the magnificent talent involved in bring this story to life, is as good as I have seen. Christine Feehan has created a sexy, thrilling, mysterious World of the Carpathians that should appeal to all. You do not have to be a paranormal follower to watch and understand the basic "human" emotions that are portrayed. With each new episode aired, you are drawn into the life of Vladimir and Sarantha. Christine Feehan's fans of her Dark Series books will love this look at all of the events that have led up to the present situation.I wish the Dark Series (past and present) could be adapted to either the Big Screen or to mainline TV!! WATCH IT!

Can't Wait for this to come out
pybryant-839-453568 November 2013
If you have not read Christine Feehan's Dark Series, then you are in for a treat. I love every book in the series and I hope they do the movie or t.v. series justice when making it. The Dark series are filled with strong alpha males and even stronger females who know how to handle their life mates. Each story is rich with descriptive details about the locale, especially the rainforest and the Carpathian mountains. I can't wait to see this happen. I like the idea of Before the Dark story. I'm hoping it will give a lot more information concerning Vladimir and Roman and how they went about trying to protect their people. Way to go Christine, on writing such great books.

Intrigue
butterflyrose0699 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In a world of growing secrets, vampire hunts, wars, and family problems, Before the Dark brings it brought to life.

With all who are familiar and well read with Christine Feehan's Dark series, we all know what happens after the Turk wars with the lives of the Carpathians very different than before the war. Now we get to know as well as understand what conspired before and leading up to after the war.

In this mini series we see unfold the internal struggles Prince Vlad has and decisions he needs to make; we see next in line to be Prince Draven becoming elusive, and shall I say immoral? Personally I cannot wait to discover who the Lycan Seer is, as well as who Draven left to see.

Intrigue and Atmosphere
geishagyrl8 November 2013
As a strong admirer of C.Feehan I have been looking forward to this web series being created. John Wells is a very good actor who portrays the role of Vladimir Dubrinsky pretty much exactly how I pictured him. The series is just starting so we haven't gotten too far into the storyline yet, but considering these are just short 5 or so minute webisodes i think that they've done a good job giving background and getting right into the mysteries of the story making you wait in anticipation for the next episode to be released. I also like that even though it's a web series, the atmosphere of the set is captured well and doesn't feel "fake" like some other web series can tend to feel like.

I would love to see this as a movie or TV series
chadra2816 November 2013
I have been a fan of Christine Feehan for eight years. I would dearly love to see the Dark series (as long as it stayed true to the books as possible) on the big screen or as a TV series. So far I have loved the work the actors have put into the mini-series. It has been great to see Vladimir and Sarantha Dubrinsky come to live in this mini-series. This is an awesome world to read about I think it could only get better as it evolves into the theater industry. I think the Carpathians have a really good message to send and they stand for: honor, over coming flaws, finding and keeping true love and the struggle of working with individuals who have vastly different world views. Plus its hot guys and great action with series.

The Dark Series are awesome
Corlisjean26 December 2013
To see Ms. Feehan's book stories come to life is awesome. To see how it all begins is great. It is always good to "see" the faces of the characters in the book. It makes the story come to life. Hopefully the web episodes will add more readers to the Dark Series. Once you read one of Ms. Christine Feehan's book, you are hooked. Can't wait to read the story that starts it all. Ugh, what more is there to say. I love the books and the web episodes are the bomb. I wonder however, what is the big secret, both Val and the Lycan seer is hiding? Will we see more of mad, bad Dravan? Who is the biggest threat to both species? What is Xavier up to doing this time? Is he good or evil and I would like to see how he looked before he turn wholly evil.

Great series!
lainazmom8 November 2013
This series is the prequel to the amazing Dark series by author Christine Feehan. It gives the readers a view of the Carpathian princes' father and the events that establish the book series. In this TV mini-drama we get to meet Vladimir and his lifemate. Vladimir has the ability to see the future and we get a glimpse of this gift and the horror that can accompany it. This series shows how Vladimir must use his visions to try and create security for the Carpathian people as well as his family. This series is beautifully created and executed. A must see for all Feehan fans as well as anyone who enjoys a great story with amazing characters!

A Great Mini series!!
Taurus_a-698-1761158 November 2013
Before The Dark is the Prequel to The Dark Series books by Christian Feehan. Its About the Carpathian people and their first Prince Vlad Dubrinsky and his Lifemate Sarantha. It tells the story prior to the Carpathain people becoming almost extinct. Carpathians are a immortal race of people commonly mistaken for Vampires. Before the Dark is a excellent opportunity for The Dark Series Fans to find out what happen and how the near extinction of this wonderful, very powerful race of being almost became extinct and the answer to how to help them recover and grow as an immortal race that watching over mankind. I encourage you to read The Dark Series and to Watch the prequel mini TV series. You will find the world of The Carpathian people fascinating. With each book their a great romance. A Hot Sexy Love story. How a Carpathian finds his Lifemate and their undying love and devotion to each other and how they overcome all of the obstacles set before them and their race.. I just Love The Carpathian. They are not this new weak breed of Immortals or Vampire. They are patterned after the Vampire of Old very strong powerful with all the mystical abilities of a paranormal race of beings. They are not Vampires they are Carpathians which can turn Vampire if they kill while feeding.

Great! Love the characters portrayal

Warning: Spoilers
I am trying to follow the Guidelines and hope I have not put in a spoiler. So in case. If you don't want to know what the series is about don't read. I was excited to hear about "Before the Dark" the prequel to Christine Feehans books "The Dark Series". It intrigues and you can't wait for the next installment. John Well is great as Vladimir Dubrinsky and is just the image I would have had for him from the book. Nate Merritt as Roman Daratrazanoff, Vlads second, is also good in his role. I look forward to watching the episodes to come. I look forward to discovering the characters as they are revealed and their part in the story. Christine Feehan writes great books and I have always thought they should have been movies. I have enjoyed the adventures she has taken me on with her books and I am anxious for the adventure of these episodes showing me what came before. Carpathians, Vampires, Leopard People, Lycans and throw in Humans…makes for a great adventure. Read and Watch…The Dark Series and find out how Vampires really came to exist
