Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • There are multiple terrorist acts throughout the film. From falling cars to bomb explosions, this is one of the most violent films in Hong Kong cinema.
  • Several explosions result in injuries. In one close-up shot of the aftermath of one explosion, a police officer can be seen with one of his legs already torn apart (some of the inner parts of his thighs can be exposed). Very graphic.
  • A man slaps his child in order to tell her to be quiet. This can be emotionally upsetting for viewers.
  • A woman slaps her boyfriend in anger and retaliation for his affiliation with a terrorist group.

Profanity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A child dies at the hands of a terrorist group. This can be very upsetting for viewers.
  • An explosion causes a large piece of road to start cracking. Eventually, a man keeps running from the explosion to reach his wife ONLY for him to get hit by a car as the explosion STOPS. Can be very intense to watch.
  • A woman argues with her boyfriend over his affiliation with his terrorist group multiple times. She even slaps him one time and warned him that he has a certain amount of time to leave the group. In that same scene right before the slap, he pulled out a gun and ostensibly went towards her to hurt her, ONLY to reveal that he isn't angry at her AT ALL and that he simply wanted to make her happy.
  • The aftermaths of the explosions can be disturbing to viewers as they may result in severe injury.
  • If this film were to receive a rating by the MPAA, it would be rated R for multiple acts of terrorism, intense action violence, some drug use and language, and for frightening images.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film focuses on the protagonist becoming more anti-heroic as the film progresses. From killing a drug addict to beating a terrorist up to death, it eventually culminates in his unauthorized execution of the other terrorists (who, not only held their hands up, but also protected one of their members from getting shot by their leader, who is completely irredeemable and cruel). This eventually leads to his arrest by the end of the film.
  • One of the anti-heroic protagonists, To, who used to work for a terrorist group, eventually requests Officer Lui that he doesn't kill him so that he can be with his wife. Later on, in the film, as Lui is busy murdering the other terrorists to give To some time to get to his wife, To gets hit by a truck, effectively ending his life. This can be very upsetting as it shows how much he redeemed himself and how he truly loved his wife.
