To Reflect In Shame

100 Years: One Woman's Fight for Justice is a tale of how my ancestors and your ancestors committed some of the most vile acts against humanity upon these Native Americans. What should have been a Class Action $175 billion case filed in 1996 that represented over 300,000 tribal members became an $8 billion settlement offer in 2008 under President Bush, which was then rescinded and resettled under President Obama in 2009 for $3.4 billion-of which only $1.4 billion went to the tribal members(approximately $1,800 each).

Obama Administration slashed actual award from over $8 billion under Bush to $1.4 billion under Obama

This film ignores the real scandal. The Bush administration agreed to settle this class action with an $8 billion dollar settlement, given to the actual 500,000 Native American individuals who were heirs lost value from the federal land grabs the case centered on. Instead Cobelle participated in a giant RIP OFF, where she agreed with Obama administration to not only slash total given to victims in what would fall to $1.4 billion, but also to give it in large part to "organisations" that in no way were harmed by the land grabs. Those organisations were big Obama supporters, wow, what a surprise! Under the Bush plan the affected individuals would have gotten about $15,000 each. Under the Obama plan then got under $2,000 each. No wonder Obama gave her the "Presidential Medal" she was as bad as the tribal chiefs who sold millions of acres for whiskey!
