Q: We recently saw you in the film Pursuit of Freedom. In it, you play the role of Bedros, a character who fights for freedom, making his own decisions, to put it that way. This is a character who is obviously full of goodness and is very human.
How did you prepare for Bedros and what can you tell us about him and your character?

A: Thank you for your feedback on Bedros and Pursuit Of Freedom.
I’d already been in a prior film about human trafficking based on a true story (Selling Isobel aka Apartment 407) and had done extensive research in this arena. So I was far too familiar with the ugly global exploitation and far too common forced labor that exists. And aware of how governments are always one step behind and in some cases don’t care.

"Not everyone can walk in the light of truth, Sam, some will merely burn." Gravitas Ventures released this horror film on VOD this week and there's a trailer to go along with it, in case anyone might be interested in seeing this. The Nightmare Gallery is an indie horror film made by filmmaker Gene Blalock, and it's a paranormal thriller that goes down some dark paths. Amber Benson plays a renowned anthropology professor whose life is turned upside-down by the sudden, suspicious disappearance of her star pupil. When a package of paranormal artifacts arrives on her doorstep three years later, she becomes obsessed with this paranormal mystery that threatens her job, marriage, and sanity as she fights to find where this student went. Also with Kevin Chamberlin, Mat Devine, Mieko Hillman, and Rahul Parikh. Looks a bit odd yet still freaky. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) ...

November 6th’s home media releases are all about the Steelbooks apparently, as horror fans have four different titles that are coming home this week that would be great additions to anyone’s collections. Scream Factory’s Steelbook for John Carpenter’s The Thing is a work of art, and Well Go USA has put together two beautiful Steelbook releases for both Phantasm: Remastered and Train to Busan, and we even get a Grindhouse Steelbook to boot. Scream Factory is also pulling double duty with the Collector’s Edition of Sleepwalkers, and as far as recent horror offerings go, Mara, The Last Sharknado: It’s About Time, and All Light Will End are getting released this Tuesday, too.
Other notable releases for November 6th include Revenge of the Dead aka Zeder: Voices from the Beyond, Restraint, and Apartment 407.

What if the afterlife was an uploading program with an expiration date of its own? That chilling concept is explored in John Stanisci's new sci-fi action graphic novel LifeDeath. Slated for a 2018 release, the graphic novel is currently part of a Kickstarter campaign with perks aplenty, and we caught up with Stanisci and actor/producer Stelio Savante to discuss the ambitious ideas behind the new graphic novel, the goal to adapt the story for the screen, and much more, and we've also been provided with an exclusive set of preview pages to share with Daily Dead readers.
Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions for us, guys. LifeDeath looks like an engrossing story with an intriguing concept. John, when and how did you originally come up with the idea for this graphic novel?
John Stanisci: First off, thank you so much for this feature! I’m...

HeyUGuys recently caught up with Stelio Savante who following his lead role in the first film ever to shoot in Equatorial Guinea Where the Road Runs Out, also has a supporting role in Peter Greenaway’s upcoming film Eisenstein in Guanajuato.
Between Greenaway and making history, we felt privileged to have an opportunity to discuss with Savante his career to date, which apparently all began thanks to some good looking girls. In an interview mixed with seriousness and humour he spoke of discovering cinema in his native South Africa, the difference between cinema in American and South African culture, working with J.J. Abrams, and the rewards of collaboration.
———–
Why a career in acting? Was there that one inspirational moment?
Getting paid to do something that I’m passionate about… how could I refuse that? Performing plays in university… I got the bug, it bite hard, and so a journey was born.
