If you are a fan of pub quizzes, and have a good knowledge of the news events in the world, entertainment, TV, film, music, sport, technology and science, politics and much more in the year gone by, then this is a great show to watch and have fun with. Hosted by Jimmy Carr, with celebrity panellists in three teams: Jonathan Ross and Jack Whitehall, Dara O'Briain and Kristen Schaal, and Richard Ayoade and Noel Fielding. This quiz focused on the year 2013, with all sorts of questions to answer about the past twelve months. These questions are asked as they are, with video and sound clips, with pictures (including Say What You See), and by celebrity and mystery guests on screen or in the studio, so it really does feel like a proper quiz that you can take part in. Events in the year 2013 that were questioned and joked about, and mentioned (or pictured) included: footballer Luis Suarez biting a player, the new XBox One, Abu Qatada being deported, the horse meat scandal, the birth of Prince George of Cambridge, the meteor strike in Russia, same-sex / gay marriage being legalised, Edward Snowden leaking documents exposing surveillance of American intelligence, Peter Capaldi becoming the new Doctor Who and the show's 50th anniversary, Simon Cowell becoming a father, Ant and Dec as PJ and Duncan performing "Let's Get Ready to Rhumble" on Saturday Night Takeaway (which went to Number One), the final episode of The IT Crowd, the final series of Shameless, Africa with Sir David Attenborough, The Jump, Luther, Toast of London, Strictly Come Dancing, Broadchurch, Utopia, The White Queen, Musharaf overcoming his stammer in Educating Yorkshire, the excruciating Sex Box presented by Mariella Frostrup, Quentin Tarantino interviewed by Krishnan Guru-Murthy and saying "I'm shutting your butt down", The Great British Bake Off including contestant Howard having his custard stolen by fellow contestant Deboarah, I'm a Celebrity... Other celebrity and special mystery guests in the show included the children of Mitchell Brook Primary School in Neasden who act out well known news stories, Jon Snow who reads news related to lyrics from songs of the year, Charles Dance who reads passages from a celebrity autobiography of the year, Russell Brand, Anchorman 2: The Legends Continues stars Steve Carell, Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd, Educating Yorkshire teachers Mr. Johnny Mitchell and Mr. Matthew Burton, The Great British Bake Off contestant Ruby Tandoh, Louis Walsh, Danny Dyer who joined EastEnders and released his film Vendetta, Olly Murs, World Championships gold medal winner and "Athlete of the Year" Christine Ohuruogu, Pointless presenter Richard Osman, mystery guest Natalie Holt who threw eggs at Simon Cowell during the Britain's Got Talent live Final, Rizzle Kicks (Jordan Stephens and Harley Alexander-Sule), Chris Hadfield who became a YouTube sensation singing David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in zero gravity on board the International Space Station, The Great Gonzo from Muppets Most Wanted, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Harry Hill. The jokes and the questions are what make this show so much fun, they always choose the right celebrity panellists, and it works as a funny way to reminisce on the recent events you remember, a great comedy quiz show.
