Bob Newhart returns as Professor Proton. Only he has died. Leonard and Penny go to the funeral but the others stay for a Star Wars marathon. Sheldon gets offended and goes to his bedroom where he falls asleep and enter Professor Proton. Sheldon expects some imparted wisdom but gets none. Just really funny, deadpan lines from his idol. Good episode with a very touching event near the end.

Sheldon gets a breakthrough in "The Photon Transmorgrification" ep of "The Big Bang Theory"

Warning: Spoilers
In this ep of "The Big Bang Theory": The boys are excited about Star Wars Day, the 4th to be exact, which is when they decide to watch all the SW features made so far though if Sheldon hadn't insisted, Howard, Raj, and Leonard would have been glad to skip Episode I. However, it turns out that day is also when a tragedy occurs...Arthur Jeffries, a.k.a Professor Photon, had died and the funeral is that scheduled day. So Leonard and Penny attend while Sheldon just lays in his bed and dreams of his idol in his Obi-Wan costume while Howard and Raj watch Episode IV. Meanwhile, Bernadette and Amy prepare a Death Star cake to cheer Sheldon up but the first try ends up on the floor. I'll stop there and just say this was another hilarious ep especially with the always-welcome return of Bob Newhart as Photon and with a light saber, to boot! But what really made this special was Sheldon's breakthrough at the end. Really, for that alone, I highly recommend "The Photon Transmorgrification" ep of "The Big Bang Theory".
GREAT episode compared to the previous few ones

Gosh where do I begin? the episode was so good compared to the last few ones, which I was really disappointed in. I was shocked, however, with the rating here on IMDb, I honestly expected a way higher rating, I thought that the episode showed a huge character development, like when Sheldon hugged Leonard, which made me tear up a little (I'm not sure but I believe this was the first time they ever hug since the beginning of the entire show)and that he finally confesses that he really appreciates the people in his life. I also loved it when Penny started quoting and laughing at Star Wars jokes. Bob Newhart was as great as always, i really hope that he appears in more episodes as Sheldon's "obi- wan" in spirit form. There were many other scenes that I liked like the death star cake, Leonard and penny crying, Sheldon's conversation with Amy, Bernadette's last lines and many more. Great episode! ^_^
