After an unimpressive first episode. The stock characters continue in the second episode. There is not an ounce of originality here but it is slightly more watchable than the opening episode.
Queen leaves the plantation and the rednecks she has to deal with in town. She goes to Charleston and realises that she can easily pass for white.
However it is not long before a white suitor rapes her after she blurts out that she is black.
Left alone and on her own. Queen becomes a live in maid for two pious old spinsters. Queen finds romance with a former slave who works as a gardener.
He leaves her pregnant and the spinsters take more than a healthy interest with the baby. In fact they want to raise him as their own.
This is soapy and schlocky melodrama. I watched this in one of these True Movie channels and I guess there might be a grain of truth somewhere.
