Self defeating and futile

The entire concept here is flawed beyond redemption, as the investigators are heavily biased to the point of begging the question with all of their unfounded assumptions. This is NOT how we reach the truth. They aren't starting with a clean slate, trying to find if there's any truth to the tales of a 'Garden of Eden,' rather they've assumed it to be true and gone in a flailing, grasping search of anything that might appear to be supporting evidence. This is not how the scientific method works. The scientific method involves first, an observation. Then one forms a hypothesis on what they believe to be happening, that would give rise to that which was observed. Next, one designs an experiment to test their hypothesis.

The key factor here, is that the scientific method doesn't have scientists trying to prove that their hypothesis is correct. Doing so would lead to all manner of errors due to such confounding variables as confirmation bias, etc... Instead, a scientists will do their best to show that their hypothesis is wrong. If they can do so, the hypothesis is discarded and a new hypothesis is formed and tested accordingly. If however, they cannot show that their hypothesis is wrong, then it is tentatively assumed that they've discovered something true about the world and objective reality.

With this 'documentary,' no such care is taken to ensure a dispassionate result. Instead, we have a theist who already believes the garden of eden to be real, who goes out and tries to prove that he's correct. His methods are sloppy, his evidence apocryphal at best and his conclusions aren't based in objective reality, nor does he have any reasonably justifiable way of reaching the wild conclusions he does.

He's very much like Erich Von Daniken (Chariots of the Gods), in that he asks interesting questions, but instead of dispassionately investigating these questions in an unbiased manner, they will both posit a batshit-crazy solution, then assume that their solution is the only correct one and then present any evidence that appears to support such nonsensical notions, while pointedly ignoring the rest of objective reality (and all the contrary/ contradictory evidence therein).

Ultimately, this kind of madness is infuriating to watch. A person who is genuinely interested in discovering the truth will follow the evidence wherever it leads. A person who will instead lead the evidence to a conclusion they favour, is clearly not interested in the truth, so much as they're interested in appearing to be correct. This makes this 'documentary' utterly unwatchable to me. If you similarly care about objective reality and things that are true, then you won't like it either. Conversely, if you'd rather hear comforting falsehoods because they happen to align with your own worldview, then this garbage is a must-see!!
