The first best Fire Emblem DS remake game.
crosswalkx1 December 2016
As you Fire Emblem fans know by now, this is a second remake of Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon originally released in 1990 on Famicom and on Super Famicom in 1994. And finally in 2009 we get the official English translated version on Nintendo DS.

You play as Marth, the main character who loses his kingdom Altea to an invading army called Dolhr forcing Marth to leave his kingdom and his sister behind, going into exile with his small group of allies to fight for his life. After Marth escapes, he then goes on a journey to reclaim his kingdom and help other nations against the Dolhr army. Marth fights in 25 chapters to fight the dark wizard Medeus who wants to take over the world with Dragons.

The music score is the best music with the familiar Fire Emblem theme song and character recruitment. The game play is still the same as the 2 Gameboy Advance Fire Emblem games. Be aware that you will be level grinding and weapon level grinding. A new feature called job class change is the first Fire Emblem game to have this feature. Just like Final Fantasy Tactics series.

You can fight and gamble money in the Arena for experience points for your character and money for items to buy but it's very risky to fight in the Arena as your character unit can die.

Also, you do however have to sacrifice one of your units order to move on in Prologue 4. Also if you want to fight in the bonus chapters, you have to have less than 15 characters with you.

My final thoughts for this game, if you don't have this DS game and you are a Fire Emblem fan, then buy it, it's usually affordable to buy used but a little expensive getting it new. You can definitely afford to buy it, unlike Path of Radiance or Radiant Dawn where it's very expensive. So it's worth owning for your Nintendo DS and 3DS system.
