Amazing footage
inventivemedia4 December 2020
There are so much amazing camerawork on this show. The other review..that person is an idiot, tho I didn't like the film 300 either. This show is nothing like it..Nature can be brutal, and amazingly beautiful. Also if you love Yellowstone like I do, you will see it in ways you have never seen before.

Beauty in the wild
TheLittleSongbird2 August 2021
My love for nature documentaries has been long term and has been made clear a number of times here. Especially with David Attenborough, but there have been some truly fine documentary series and films that do not have his involvements and sees certain specific animals or groups in a new light. As well as specific locations, like Yellowstone with 'Wild Yellowstone'. Yellowstone is amazing and should be featured more in documentaries.

'Wild Yellowstone' is proof of this. Is it one of the best documentaries ever made, or one of the most ground-breaking? No it isn't. Is it a classic? Not quite. Is it good? Yes, very good indeed and one would be hard pressed to find a better or more comprehensive documentary centering around Yellowstone and anybody who has never been there will probably find themselves wanting to. It is also abundantly clear that the crew were in love with the place and the inhabitants watching 'Wild Yellowstone' and it is recommended highly if not quite blowing me away.

By all means, it is not perfect. With the main and only big drawback being the overuse of rather flashy and gimmicky editing, that has too much of a try too hard and experimenting of different types feel that does distract. With it being present throughout, it is hard to not be critical of it as it did cheapen the experience at times.

A shame because as an experience 'Wild Yellowstone' often captivates. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous as to be expected, and shot with a lot of atmosphere and love. The music is not used too much and doesn't come over as over the top or over-emphasised orchestrally, mood-wise it is just right.

Furthermore, 'Wild Yellowstone' is informative, will be illuminating for anybody for anybody who has never been to Yellowstone or heard of it and even those who have been there may find some educational parts. The footage from beginning to end is really quite amazing, very cute, very entertaining but also not afraid to shy away from any brutal cruelty. Loved the inhabitants and related completely to their struggles and overcomings.

In conclusion, very good. 8/10.

Nat Geo flash
SnoopyStyle4 November 2019
This is an hour long nature doc from Nat Geo on the various animals fighting for survival in Yellowstone. Somebody over at Nat Geo has been trying to liven up their nature docs with quick cuts, speed up and slow motion, and different angles. It's always nice to see these animals in the wild. I can live without the flashier editing style. The only worthwhile slow motion scene is the two male rams butting heads. It's great to see the shockwaves moving down the animals' bodies. Most of the time, the slow motion is unnecessarily and the quick cuts are annoying. Thankfully, there is no stunt narrations from a Hollywood star.

ADD: Oh hey! This may actually be a series. Maybe I'm on the wrong page.

Total crap
joosia22 April 2018
Beautiful landscapes and wildlife but the constant dubstep beats and slow-motion effects make this film unwatchable and it seems like some crappy nature version of the movie 300, which btw also sucks.
