Got Your 6 has announced six new projects have received its 6 Certified designation, a program that recognizes film, television, theatrical, or digital content that accurately portrays veterans as leaders and civic assets.
The projects range from CBS’s new show “Seal Team,” the Tina Fey-produced “Great News” on NBC, and the biographical film “Rebel in the Rye” about WWII veteran J.D. Salinger.
The national veteran empowerment organization Got Your 6 launched the 6 Certified initiative in early 2015 as part of its mission to change the veteran “broken/hero” stereotype held by 80 percent of U.S. civilians. The program challenges entertainment industry executives and content creators to craft more thoughtful narratives around veterans and military families.
Got Your 6 announced the following projects were awarded with 6 Certified status:

The 5th Annual Key West Film Festival has announced its official 2016 lineup, including the opening night film, “20th Century Women,” directed by Mike Mills and starring Annette Bening, Elle Fanning, Greta Gerwig and Billy Crudup. As part of the festival’s signature Critics Focus program, MTV’s Chief Film Critic Amy Nicholson will present and lead a conversation around the film, alongside David Fear, Senior Film/TV Editor of Rolling Stone.
Director of Programming Michael Tuckman said of Nicholson’s pick, “I could not be more thrilled with Amy Nicholson’s choice of ’20th Century Women’ to kick off our 5th Anniversary edition of festival. Annette Bening’s performance is Oscar-deserving and the rich depth of the balance of the leading cast is Altman-esque in its quality. Amy’s discussion after the film will bring a cunning critic’s eye to this fabulous film for audiences.”

The Stephanie Allain era of Film Independent’s Los Angeles Film Festival is over.
The prolific producer (“Beyond the Lights”) is leaving her role of five years as director of the summer festival to spend more time on her first avocation. She will be replaced by another independent producer, Jennifer Cochis (“Smashed”), who for the past two years worked closely as Creative Director with Allain on all aspects of the festival.
Allain is currently in production on Justin Simien’s Netflix series “Dear White People,” in post-production on Gerard McMurray’s “Burning Sands” and prepping Clark Johnson’s “Juanita,” set to star Alfre Woodard.
Film Independent President Josh Welsh has watched Cochis move up from Senior Programmer to Creative Director, he said in a statement. Working with Allain, she was instrumental in “turning the Festival into a powerful platform for discovering new and diverse talent.”

Bristol Palin is a firm believer in her second amendment right. On Friday, the mother of two took to Instagram revealing that she takes her son Tripp, 7, shooting. "#trapper #safetyfirst #teachingthemyoung," Palin, 25, captioned the photo. In the snap Bristol stands behind Tripp in a woodsy area, as he aims a small caliber gun. The pair also took proper safety measures; both sporting protective eyewear and headphones. Carrying has always been important to me for my own safety but now it is imperative because now I have someone relaying on me. Every day, everywhere I go, every time I carry and...
