These comments refer to the entire two part story; not just episode two.
This story opens with Dicte, her daughter Rose and Bo going to watch a football match at which Rose's boyfriend Jannik Riise is playing. After his team concedes a late goal things turn rather ugly with some fans shouting racist abuse at the team's Ghanaian goalkeeper. After the match things are even worse; the goalkeeper is murdered in the dressing room. Dicte believes that there is more to the story than just the murder and suggests that her paper look into the hooligans who follow the local team; her colleagues are less keen as they believe stories that show the team and its fans in a bad light will not be popular with the readers. Dicte investigates on her own and gets arrested at the scene of a scuffle between rival fans. As the investigation continues a second possibility emerges; it looks as though the dead man had been involved in match fixing and if there is one corrupt player it is quite likely that there are more and Dicte thinks Jannik could be involved. Away from the central case Dicte is worried that Rose is getting close to her grandmother and Wagner's relationship with Grace, who shouldn't be in the country, is about to be exposed.
This was a solid episode that nicely combines personal stories with a good central mystery. There are some fairly tense moments as Dicte does along with the hooligans as they fight a rival gang and later, in a much more threatening scene, she is warned against continuing to write about match fixing. The possibility of match fixing seemed fresh as such stories still get reported in the real world; the hooliganism seemed more dated as that isn't the problem it used to be at least here in the UK where it was a real problem a while back; perhaps it still is elsewhere. There are a few decent twists along the way and the killer wasn't the person I suspected. This story shows that Dicte isn't a typical protagonist as she makes some silly mistakes; notably when she puts Bo's son in a taxi while she does off with the hooligans leaving the boy with a flare that one of the thugs gave him! We also see that she is more like her mother than she would care to admit. The secondary stories were intriguing; most notably that involving Grace; I wondered why she had been kept in the series; now it becomes apparent that her story is more than just having Wagner breaking the law to help her. I have a feeling we will learn more about her story in the season finale. Overall another good episode that fans of the series should enjoy.
