Review of a real case from 1955
Originator199431 December 2014
This was a horrific case from 1955 that I lived thru and it remained on the front pages of the areas four main newspapers for many, many months. Circulation was at its peak, for several years. Two newspaper columnists that covered the crime from beginning to end both wrote best selling books , in documentary style. This particular case should have been done in two or more parts as one hour did not even begin to cover the gist of the story and many facts were left out and some quite distorted, especially,by the two females narrating ..they had it wrong from start to,finish. They seemed to add their own innuendos , not facts. The actors portraying the parts did not even come close to resembling the real persons nor was the storyline even close to,the real facts. This case was one of California's biggest of the time and this episode botched it up ...It was choppy, left out valid facts and basically skipped over what really transpired over the several years it took from missing to execution. Disappointing episode for such a worthy case. It was precedent setting at the time and again, this episode just glossed over it. Disappointing ....
