One of my favorite episodes of the later seasons
superkaizoman12 December 2022
This episode has aged flawlessly because everybody has realized how annoying their childhood favorite YouTubers are. Cartmanbra has to be one of the best satires on South Park for how much it nails what it going for! I could do without the whole lorde concert part but it's a decent joke towards what women are painted to be in media. Many people do not like this episode and I understand why! It can get annoying and too much and it was a bold statement when it came out, but I say watch it again! For how accurate it was and the pure amount of humor that is displayed by cartman in this episode!!!!

Nooooo not Pewdiepie!
capelladewdrop21 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I usually like South Park, and would rate even the worst episode better than this, but this get 1 star simply because they made an episode all about that moron Pewdiepie! His ego much have had such a huge stroking from this it's like he's been immortalized now and he's just some idiot who screams and swears!

It's not as if this episode poked fun at him either, like many celebrities find themselves being poked fun at in South Park. But in the writers defense, they weren't really promoting him, they were simply describing the Pewdiepie phenomenon like it is. And they did choose Cartman, the idiot of the group to emulate him too.

I suppose overall even although I dislike it, they are just telling it like it is once again. Sometimes I can't be bothered playing games and would rather watch someone else playing it on Youtube. Heck even in the 90s I even spent more time watch other people play the games in the arcades than playing them myself, and I doubt I was the only one.

If you watch this episode you'll notice that it's the kindergärtners who are all watching Pewdiepie. That pretty much is his target audience.

What were they thinking!

Warning: Spoilers
Where to begin with this episode. Came in expecting a bad episode and that's exactly what I got. If I could summarize this episode it would be simply annoying. I haven't had an episode of south park this bad besides Jakovasaur which lets not start on that one. Now I sort of get what they were going at, "Instead of watching someone else play a game do it yourself". But beside the fact this episode is basically Canada on Strike and Taming Strange with Pdp and Cartman acting like him this episode is basically a that's right a "rehash" but the worst part they didn't even make it a good one like Grounded Vindaloop which was good compared to what it's original episode was this was just down right awful. Lets continue on Cartman, he was acting basically how pdp does in his videos with the hey bros and then video cut to him shouting his name in a weird voice or the voice you make when you talk to a dog or baby. He then screamed randomly and talked in a weird voice which is sadly pretty accurate to what pdp is. Now the whole Hologram thing felt EXTREMELY unnecessary. It's a shame Randy couldn't save this episode like he has done before (Cough cough last episode cough cough). Now I am going to admit this episode had some pretty funny parts and by that I mean the two in a halfish parts which I didn't feel like turning the t.v. off at which were Randy's performance, Micheal Jackson on the bus, and my one that I thought was pretty good was the song Iggy was singing which is about right. The grand finale Randy regrets doing what he did on stage and letting Shelly and all his fans see what happened so he calls his manager and tells him to meet him up and he is going to tell the truth. Too find out being an artist isn't about the fans and it's about the comments and then Randy gets replaced with a hologram. But the worst part of this episode was like every season we get our own two parter and if we are lucky we can get a trilogy. But apparently Matt and Trey felt the need to torture us with one more episode. I think I was right when I said this was going to be a horrible episode. If you didn't watch this episode consider yourself lucky.

Utter and Complete failure

Warning: Spoilers
Man, where do I start. First off, I was so excited about this episode because I LOVE pewdiepie and thought this episode would relate to me. I even play video games like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and I am familiar with Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, and "Lorde". Have you noticed that the only good episodes of this season, which I would argue would be Grounded Vindaloop, The Cissy, and Go Fund Yourself, all do not incorporate other episodes in their plot. Since when did the writers decide to become lazy and fill their plot with old material? I also liked the Freemon episode, but that was only because I love how South Park makes fun of Canadians! I feel like they have lost their touch or creativity. Where are the "You know, I learned something today", or if not that, at least have Cartman be extremely racist and in turn be called fat by Kyle. Thats another thing, why aren't Cartman and Kyle going at it like usual. Instead, I feel like they all get along, and instead its them against some random overblown problem that doesn't reflect the faults of society and simply isn't funny. They are overusing Randy and his role. HE IS NOT A MAIN CHARACTER. He's the type of character, that when used in moderation, is extremely hilarious, but used a bunch and he gets kinda annoying and stale. And the Butters and Cartman duo has been the most loved episodes by the fans, yet you only include it in Grounded Vindaloop, which got rated 9.2 stars, and YOU Don't GO BACK TO IT. This is what COD Ghosts felt like. They simply didn't input or include the fans opinion into the equation (no league play, stale and tinted maps like MW3, too much emphasis on campaign and not multi player, unbalanced guns, etc) whereas South Park overuses Randy, has over dramatic plots that barely make sense and have too much gore/ unneeded cussing, no character development, no butters/cart man, no kyle/cart man, NOT EVEN KENNY, does not unveil the faults of society in an over exaggerated and satirical manner in a hilarious way like it used to, no Cartman catch-phrases like "Respect My Authoritah", or "Screw you guys, I'm going home", in fact i feel like cart man just screams all the time in the same monotone voice. And if you're going to make your episodes based on current events, at least make sensible and important ones like Ferguson, ISIS, Ebola (not the gluten free episode for Christ sake), Russia, etc, Not how big Iggy's ass is or how Lorde is "Real". THIS USED TO BE A SHOW FOR INTELLIGENT PEOPLE. I don't know whats going on South Park, but I am getting pretty sick of your bullshit. You don't even do a marijuana episode, even though it is legalized in Colorado? (KFC Episode doesn't count). You write playwrights and so many scripts yet you can't create a good 21 minute episode? I feel like I can write a better script than you guys have. You have been "Rehashing" all season. And not to mention that Cartmans "Cartman BRAAA" is really annoying and weird, unlike pewdiepie's opening which is cool. Only giving you 2 stars because of some funny moments like Randy rubbing his cl-it, Tupac, and Michael Jackson, and BTW, I understand they are trying to say pop culture is simply re introducing old stuff as new and making it their own, such as is watching people play video games and commenting on them. This episode failed to do so in a funny or clear manner. And overall, I feel disappointed that I have to wait a whole year for only 8 episodes, and 80 percent of them are unwatchable. You have ample time to prepare episodes and execute them to perfection. Rather, I see Matt stone and trey parker simply not giving a damn and puling out BS episodes that are convoluted and cheap. I've seen all of SP's 256 episodes, and gladly have watched many, such as the Warcraft episode, The Jewpacabra,Scott Tenorman, Awesom-o, Chinpokemon, Clubhouses, Crack baby athletic association, Sarcastaball, black Friday trilogy, the coon trilogy, all of Mr. Hankey Christmas classics, all of Towelie, Cartman Finds Love, Whale Wars, Chickenpox, Martha Steisand and a whole bunch more. I also left a review last week, where it was definitely not warmly received, yet I expect more out of Matt and trey to be honest. They understand how to exploit societies faults and make them SO funny, and I just think they don't care anymore, therefore I don't want to condone episodes where the writers half-ass it. As Cartman would say, "That's a bad MR. Matt and Trey, bad Mr. Matt and Trey".

Awful, one of the worst eps
hearsz26 July 2020
Awful, one of the worst ever eps, and it potentially started the downfall in quality of SP.

Too much going on at once, with limited humour present in this episode, and the season finale that follows, #HappyHolograms.

Avoid both episodes, you won't miss anything by doing so.
