Tiger Shroff is on a winning spree. And what better way to bolster his brand than another Baaghi film? Having nailed the action in the first two films Tiger, with choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan at the helm, unleashes what looks like a millennial version of Raj Kumar Santoshi’s Ghayal.
Tiger plays the street-smart fist-friendly rebooted version of Sunny Deol, while Ritesh Deshmukh is the doting brother who gets kidnapped in, ahem, Syria, (the film is actually shot in Serbia). The Baaghi franchise is characterized by a kidnapping incident. In the first Baaghi film it was Tiger’s girlfriend who got kidnapped. In Baaghi 2, it was his daughter. This time it is his brother. Next time it might be the producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Remember Raj Babbar and Sunny Deol’s Deol’s sibling prem in Ghayal? Baaghi 3 is Ghayal with the action taken to a level that Raj Kumar...

Well, 2019 is now in the past and the record books have it safely locked away, so its best time to look forward to what will be another action, drama and comedy packed year of Bollywood cinemas. At 89 years old, Bollywood is still right on the pulse of modern society, giving audiences things to talk about and think about all the way till Nye 2021. Some things will carry on from last year: there’s plenty of female-centric films and plenty to be had especially for action and comedy buffs. Most importantly though, this need to be on the cusp, on the tongues and keeping audiences on the edge of their seats, will mean the music will find new heights and extremes to reach as it either becomes the cornerstone of the film or disappears into the background, providing a rhythmic base for the story and characters to play upon. So, below...

Netflix got in the end-of-year spirit Monday by sharing its own set of Top 10 lists for 2019, including its most popular titles that launched in the U.S. over the last 365 days, which is lead by the Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler comedy “Murder Mystery” and the third season of “Stranger Things.”
According to Netflix, its “most popular” domestic releases for the year are, in order, “Murder Mystery,” “Stranger Things 3,” “6 Underground,” “The Incredibles 2”, “The Irishman,” “The Witcher,” “Triple Frontier,” “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile,” “The Umbrella Academy” and “The Highwaymen.”
No viewership data was included with the list — which shouldn’t come as a complete shock, seeing as Netflix is famously selective about releasing numbers — but an individual with knowledge of the streaming service’s methodology tells TheWrap that the titles were ranked by the number of U.S. accounts that chose to watch at least two minutes of a series,...

Despite some major issues in the Japanese movie industry, mostly having to do with the lack of a middle ground between independent and blockbuster movies and continuous denial of some major companies to allow their movies to screen outside Japan, 2019 has been quite a good year for local cinema. The international festival circuit gave a lot of films the opportunity to both screen and find some source of funding outside Japan, while creativity (despite the fact that it derives from manga and novels mostly) remains one of the most significant traits of Japanese cinema.
Without further ado, here are the best Japanese films of 2019, in reverse order, with the focus being, as always, on diversity. Some films may have premiered in 2018, but since they mostly circulated in 2019, we decided to include them.

Disney’s “Frozen 2” stayed ahead of the competition in its second weekend in China, holding on to the top box office spot with a three-day gross of $26.7 million. According to consultancy Artisan Gateway, the “Frozen” sequel has now earned a cumulative $90.9 million in the world’s second-largest film market after releasing day-and-date with the U.S. and scoring Disney’s biggest-ever opening weekend in China for an animated title.
The Jennifer Lee-directed film already made more in its $53.2 million debut weekend than the original “Frozen” made in its entire $48 million Chinese theatrical run in 2014. Nevertheless, China has been no match for sales in the U.S., where the title has already earned $288 million.
The star-studded murder mystery “Knives Out” failed to slash its way to equivalent success in its China opening weekend, grossing $13.7 million to come in third behind fellow newcomer “Two Tigers,” a local dark comedy that earned $19.7 million.

The InvinciblesA decade ago, Dominik Graf was Frg’s (Federal Republic of Germany) best kept secret: The nation’s one grandmaster of cinema whom the rest of the world had never heard of, or not taken proper interest in his work whenever there was a chance to. There certainly have been chances: his heist thriller Die Katze (The Cat,1988) was big enough back home for even distant observers to notice. His eccentric comedy Spieler (The Gamblers, 1990) screened in Venice’s competition, with seemingly nobody giving a shit, not even the locals—the film looked like some bizarre alien creature in those early post-Wall days when good spirits and humor were the order of the day, not subversive laughter about life’s inherent weirdness. When a dozen plus years on his melodrama Der Felsen (A Map of the Heart, 2002) got selected for the Berlinale competition, the film provoked something akin to...

Directed by Alister Grierson, the film Tiger stars Prem Singh, Janel Parrish, Michael Pugliese and Academy Award nominee Mickey Rourke.
Tiger is inspired by the true story of Pardeep Singh Nagra, a practicing Sikh man who was banned from the sport of boxing due to his religious beliefs. The ban and the backlash he received is a result of racial profiling, stereotypical threats, and the daily pressure to change to fit a regulation and to conform. It is within the course of these challenges, and at his weakest moment, that he discovers love, who he is and to love himself and find his purpose. Consequently, his legacy will be forever tied to his two biggest battles – one in the courtroom, the other in the ring.
This film completely immerses you and gets you involved into the fight of Pardeep Singh Nagra and will make you want him to triumph inside and outside the ring.

"Nobody likes change... To me it doesn't matter how a fighter look, it ain't going to knock me down." R3M Pictures has debuted an official trailer for a boxing drama titled Tiger, the latest from Australian filmmaker Alister Grierson. A practicing Sikh is banned by the boxing commission for refusing to back down from his religious beliefs. Through racial profiling and stereotypical threats, he does what any strong American would do, fight back - in the courts, and in the ring. The film stars Prem Singh as Pardeep Nagra, and the cast includes Mickey Rourke, Janel Parrish, Marshall Manesh, and Michael 'Mick' Harrity. This looks alright, but I'm not too sure. It seems like a meaningful story about someone fighting for what he loves to do, fighting against age old racism and prejudice. Check it out below. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Alister Grierson's Tiger, direct from YouTube...

An adrenaline packed action movie of Rambo levels, Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 is a follow up from 2016’s Baaghi: A Rebel for Love, which propelled Tiger to stardom. Disha Patani has replaced Shraddha Kapoor as the leading lady to our action hero. The film is taken to new heights under the direction of Ahmed Khan. As a reflection of the characters, the songs must provide music to describe a variety of strong emotions. There will be power, there will be anger and loss but the audience must have fun too! Thus the producers have opted for a range of music directors namely Mithoon, Arko, Sandeep Shirodkar, Gourov-Roshin and Pranaay Rijay to each give their own take on the situation.
