Too many flaws and weak writing ruins this conclusion episode from becoming a potentially series saving plot line.

This episode felt a little strange to me. Some things didn't make sense, and some things felt unnecessary. I'm not one to write reviews, but I felt like I had to.

I've been watching Revenge since the very beginning and I've always enjoyed it. Although, this season (4) feels odd. I felt like I've been watching the same episode time and time again. Emily Vs Victoria and whoever that provided supporting roles. Which I enjoy because of the brilliant acting portrayed from Madeleine Stowe (Incredible and beautiful actress I must say) and Emily VanCamp. For me, as much as I'm enjoying this show, it's getting a tad dull and predictable (at least the weak story line).

With the resurrection of David Clark earlier in the season, I felt interested in the show again.. It felt like there was something fresh, and new to the series. What will Emily do now? That sort of thing. I liked that.

Then came Malcolm Black, a character who's been built up over the last few episodes as someone whose ruthless, has no mercy, and is even worse than Conrad, So I sort of had some big expectations to see who this person is (Someone who even frightened David). Even in the manner he was introduced before the series went on break, He felt important, especially with Daniel's death.

After viewing this episode, I felt more disappointed than satisfied. After all the build up about Malcolm Black, and even after killing off Daniel as a stepping stone for his introduction, it made me wonder if it was really a necessary move from the writers? For a character who was supposed to be so evil and so smart to be killed off in such a lame, dull and unsatisfying manner, it just felt wrong to me. As if Daniel died for no reason at all! Nothing really happened. It was useless. Potential was there, and they wasted it.

He only lasted 2 episodes. 2 very unnecessary, pathetic episodes.

Another part I struggled with is why Emily decided to tell Victoria, when they were "captive", that David was trying to kill her.. It was a weak, and completely lame and cheesy thing to do from the writers, because the character Emily/Amanda is, isn't weak like that and that's not the type of character she is. It didn't make sense at all. What on earth were the writers thinking..

Even Maurgaux.. when she talked about how she has evidence about Emily killing anyone. That doesn't make sense because clearly there is none.. Unless the writers decide to open up more plot holes into the storyline. Why go against Emily after DANIEL DIED PROTECTING HER! Makes no sense whatsoever. Again, what are the writers even thinking? Her progression as a character seems more like a jealous, airhead girl who doesn't know what to do now that Daniel is dead. Is it really even necessary to put us through this amateur and dull plot line?

Don't even get me started about Louise and her mother! Makes me feel like I'm watching the daytime soap operas my grandma watches when she's bored. Terrible, terrible, and unnecessary writing.

After having expectations about the last several episodes, heck all season, that finally we're going to get something new and fresh to the series, I feel completely unsatisfied. I feel like the writers have no idea what their doing.

I still love this show, regardless of it's lack of quality and insanely weak writing over the last season or so, but the constant frustration of predictability and repetitiveness is killing it.

I hope this series gets it's act together, but I doubt it. I doubt it'll even reach more than 5 seasons, which means we're going to get more Emily Vs Victoria and whatever crap the writers decide to randomly cook up.

Please give us something new. *Phew* Venting does help release frustration from watching hours and hours of Revenge back to back. Thank you :)

While certainly an action packed episode, I much preferred 'Revenge' when Emily solved her problems through trickery rather than violence. And there's a lot of that here.

I agree with the previous reviewer about Malcolm Black, the character was so hyped up as being scary (and he was to be fair), but then is wiped out very quickly.

I didn't mind the Nolan/Louise story, though the repeated pairing of those two did lead us to think there might be spin-off potential, that as of 2020 hasn't happened.

The less said about the ever annoying Maurgaux the better.
