Sex & Nudity
-
- In one sequence, players can use a spy camera to zoom in on a female character wearing a bikini.
Violence & Gore
-
- Players traverse fantasy environments and battle enemy soldiers and other creatures in melee-style combat (e.g. blobs, mechanical beasts and robots). Battles are accompanied by large blood splatter effects, realistic gunfire and screams of pain.
- Cinematic cutscenes depict additional acts of violence: a man stabbing himself with a sword; a girl shot by an American Sniper; a character shot close-up.
Profanity
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- This game includes event scenes in which a character sedates/drugs players' character and performs unknown acts on them; it is implied that some of these acts may be of a sexual nature.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
-
- If this were a movie, it would've been rated R for graphic sequences of violence/gore and disturbing images, some drug material and brief suggestive content.
Spoilers
Frightening & Intense Scenes
- The opening sequence plays out similar to the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. A brutal battle involving a military academy and a heavily mechanized imperial invasion force (hereinafter Empire) takes place. The Empire shoots down any kids they can find and the cadets respond by calling down Bahamut to vaporize most of the invading army.
- When beginning a new game, Izana and his chocobo are attacked. They stumble across other trainees and barely survive a missile blast. He impales a Militesi soldier with his longsword; the soldier's blood stains Izana during this sequence. As he rides through the streets of Rubrum, his chocobo is shot and dies during this sequence. Pretty graphic and disturbing, and also emotional too.
