I have been a fan of A Haunting since it began, so I was happy when I heard new episodes were going to be aired. Alas, the new episodes have not lived up to the originals. The recent shows don't have the mystery of the earlier years. These new shows are filled with cartoon demons bursting out of those clichéd portals leading to a plethora of infernal dimensions. The said demons are always scratching, clawing, glowering, threatening and looming. Oh, don't forget the red eyes. No Visine in the other dimension? Cue the paranormal investigators and psychics. It seems every little town has a team of paranormal experts with their electronic equipment and jargon. The portal is detected and dire warnings are delivered. Next up, the religious crew wielding their denominational weapons. Sometimes, the religious figures play a bit hard to get, but they or a spiritual stand in from an alternative faith ride to the rescue in the end. Shut the door and hire some new writers. Go back to the beginning and look at those human stories.
