Louis has recovered and asserts to take control of events away from the plotters. He has had many of the aristocrats arrested and gets conflicting advice as to whether to let them rot in prison, execute them or set them free on the promise of future obedience.

However she is also King Charles of England's sister and Louis wants her to visit her brother in England to form an alliance against the Dutch.
