Episode 5 and we are at the halfway point but I think the series is meandering as far as I am concerned. It just lacks energy and impetus and the various locales are just there to drive international television sales.
Jamie as played by Mathew Baynton seems to much like his character in The Wrong Mans, forever moping and therefore for entertainment value we are left with his pal to be the comedy sidekick and drive his strand of the plot along.
Heer Dave tells Jamie that he has been bad to his adoptive mother for neglecting her and to his real mother as she abandoned him.
Father Jude and Sister Celine go to see another candidate for the messiah, a supposed miracle worker called Antonia.
The more interesting threads are Ariel's kidnapping of Spike with Scotty and General Gaines going out to rescue him. Rhonda meeting Leanne's family who want to sell out Rhonda for the ransom. Not sure how they would achieve this as Leanne is also wanted given that she broke out from prison with her.
The episode just felt padded and I think it really needs to shift gears.
