Interesting casting; interesting drama

Nica Noelle manages to weave together what normally would be individual vignettes in this effective feature, one of the final releases by her ill-fated Frisco-based label Girl Candy. Now that she's almost abandoned Lesbian Cinema for male casts (and transsexuals) it's a fine reminder of her prowess in Sapphic content.

Sam Ryan is the new arrival at a halfway house for wayward women, guilty of passing bad checks. She's greeted with truculent and indifferent hard cases there, none of whom could give even our dear president a lesson in civility.

Instead of the cliches of Women in Stir movies, this opus transfers the thick-skinned approach to ladies in limbo, almost re-integrated into polite society. But the same anxieties and power-struggles remain, as Sam is to learn very quickly.

She ultimately hooks up with the butch Kinky Gaga, an unusual and striking actress who this time around surprised me with her resemblance not to the glamorous stage Lady Gaga, but rather the more down to earth look the Monster lady exudes on those "A Star Is Born" one sheets cuddling with Bradley Cooper. A study in contrasts (Kinky has a shaved head worthy of a Marine recruit), the Gaga/Ryan sex scene is worth waiting for.

Except for superstar Elexis Monroe the rest of the cast is fresh talent, all of them performing well in both acting scenes and sack time. Another effortless mini-classic by the great NN.
